Kensington Market Food Tour - En sjov udforskning

Vi havde en madtur med Jessica, der startede hos Fresco’s Fish & Chips og sluttede hos Fika med en iskaffe og ingefærkiks. Turen var så sjov - vi lærte så meget om markedet og dets historie, forskellige typer køkken og forskellige kulturer. Jessica var vores guide, og hun var fantastisk – en absolut stråle af sol, der besidder så meget viden om området og Toronto generelt. Jeg vil meget anbefale turen og udforskningen af Kensington Market - det var en vidunderlig 2. 5 timers erfaring.

11 / 10 , hvis du er en foodie, der også er interesseret i Toronto historie, kan jeg ikke anbefale denne tur nok.
Min kone og tre børn (alder 8 - 13 ) gik med mig, og vi havde William som vores guide. Maden var utrolig - min ældste er en super - udvalgt spiser og han bedømte to af stop (to gange - stegt torsk og laks) 8 / 10 og 9 / 10 . William var en af de bedste turguider jeg nogensinde har oplevet. Vi lærte så meget om Kensington Market område med dens bånd til Keanu Reeves og Drake / Kendrick Lamar oksekød er to højdepunkter. Jeg havde forventet en date dag for min kone og mig, at mine børn ville simpelthen tolerere, men i stedet (hovedsagelig på grund af, hvor venlig og engagerende William var) sagde de efter vi forlod, at det var højdepunktet for deres tur til Toronto. William, tak så meget for at give os en sådan mindeværdig oplevelse. I det øjeblik vi forlod dig, tog vi dit råd og gik på jagten på bøfler og at se de to stykker af Banksy kunstværk!

11/10 right back at you — this made our day! What a gift to hear that a "date day" turned into THE highlight of your kids' trip. That's exactly the magic we hope William brings: the food, the history, the Keanu Reeves and Drake/Kendrick trivia (we promise we didn't plan that beef as content, but we'll take it). Huge win getting your pickiest eater to rate the cod and salmon that high — that's a William specialty. So glad you followed his advice on the beaver scavenger hunt and the Banksy pieces too — love that the adventure kept going after the tour ended. Thank you for such a wonderful review, and we'd love to have your whole crew back for another neighbourhood next time you're in Toronto!

Vores guide Jessica var fremragende, meget vidende, venlig og behagelig. Grunden til, at jeg kun gav 3 stjerner, er, at jeg ikke troede, at den mad, vi smagte var så god. . var meget simpel og ikke rigtig nok sort. I slutningen af turen følte jeg ikke, at vi fik en chance for at prøve nok forskellige fødevarer under hensyntagen til alle de muligheder og muligheder der er på markedet. Det er også lidt prismæssigt. Jeg vil ikke anbefale det til mine venner.

I’m sorry to hear the food tastings didn’t quite meet your expectations and that the variety felt limited. We appreciate the honest review — it’s been a while since we’ve received a 3-star rating, and it gives us a chance to provide some helpful context for future guests.
A note for prospective guests: This tour isn’t for everyone. We feature authentic tastings from 7+ different countries across 5 continents (as of 2026: Canada, Jamaica, Chile, Peru, Japan, Tibet, South Africa, and Sweden). Most dishes are prepared by people from those very countries — immigrant families who brought these precious flavours to Toronto. From Chilean empanadas to Tibetan momos, each bite and sip is a taste of “home” for the families who run these small, family-owned businesses in Kensington Market.
We walk through one of the most ethnically diverse neighbourhoods in the world’s most diverse city, and food that’s new or unfamiliar can naturally spark strong opinions. Since 2017, Chopsticks+Forks has proudly hosted this experience. Four of our six stops have been with us since Day 1, and our long-time team — Felicia (since 2018), Jessica and William (since 2019), and myself — are fixtures in the Market. It’s our honour to introduce you to our friends and the flavours that connect them to “home” they left behind.
