A climb worth remembering
571ashokk, October 2026
We were a group of four friends who booked the 2-day, 1-night Mount Kinabalu package with Borneo Calling, and right from the very beginning we felt that we were in good hands. Their pre-climb communication was excellent — clear, timely and very well organised. All the arrangements leading up to the climb were handled professionally, which gave us a great deal of confidence before we even started. Throughout the trek, everything went smoothly and we never faced any uncertainty or logistical issues. A special word of thanks to Sky, who was our main point of contact and ensured that all the arrangements were taken care of, and to our mountain guide, Nuhairi, who looked after us extremely well on the mountain. His experience, patience and encouragement made a real difference, especially during the more demanding parts of the climb. Overall, Borneo Calling delivered a very well-organised and enjoyable experience from start to finish. We came away with wonderful memories of Mount Kinabalu and would be very happy to recommend them to anyone planning the climb.

Sam was my guide and he did an excellent job. He communicated perfectly and made alterations based on my speed.

A tough but very doable challenge for someone with little mountain experience. Worth it for the summit!

It was an experience which was definitely worth doing!! I was solo hiking with my guide Sam. There was no pressure on pace, you go as fast or as slow as you like and the views from the summit make the long hike worth it

8th- 9th Sep Mount Kinabalu hike and climb
Navigator66914195811, September 2026
The experience was beyond words. The view at the summit of Mount Kinabalu was spectacular. I joined the 2D1N tour package by Borneo Calling. The operator provided very clear instructions and was very responsive with my queries and provided clear instructions on pick up arrangement. Stayed overnight at Panalaban base camp hostel- 4pax sharing. The mountain guide Syam provided me with many good tips for the climb and was also very patient helping with me lots of photos and videos. The package was a bit expensive for private international tourist but it was definitely worth the experience. The weather was good on the day we submitted although not being the best. We were lucky to be able to summit on 9th Sep 2026. Will come back again if I have the chance!
