The adventure commences around 9:30 AM at the Expotur office. From there, a 4x4 truck will transport us for a 2.5-hour journey to the Mamey region. After lunch, we'll begin our trek towards the sacred site of the Tayronas, the ancient inhabitants of the Lost City. By late afternoon, we'll reach Camp 1. Nearby, you'll find rivers, natural pools, and waterfalls perfect for relaxation before dinner and settling in for the night in prepared hammocks.
Day 2: CAMP 1 - CAMP 3

Parque Nacional Natural Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta

After an early breakfast, we'll start our hike through the Buritaca river valley. Along the way, we'll encounter numerous dwellings forming a Kogui indigenous village named Mutanshi. Today's trek spans approximately 7 hours through the jungle of the Sierra Nevada, offering close encounters with diverse nature. We will finally arrive at Camp 3 for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: CAMP 3 - LOST CITY - CAMP 2

Day 3, Segment 1

Following an early breakfast, we embark on the ascent to our destination, beginning with climbing 1,200 steps on a path originally built by the Tayronas. At the summit lies the much-anticipated Lost City. Your guide will provide insights into this magical place, rich with relics and ancestral tales. We'll spend the morning enjoying the scenery, with ample time for rest and photos. After lunch, we'll retrace our steps to Camp 2, where dinner will be served before we rest for the night.
Day 4: CAMP 2 - EL MAMEY

Our final day of adventure begins with breakfast, after which we commence our return journey. We'll pass by rivers and waterfalls where you can refresh yourselves. Upon reaching El Mamey, lunch will be served, and a truck will be ready to take us back to Santa Marta. We expect to arrive around 5:00 PM, having fully experienced the wonders of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta.
Travelers should convene at the Expotur facilities.
Following the tour's conclusion, we can provide drop-off at any hotel within Santa Marta city. Alternatively, we can drop you off at locations near Palomino and Minca, or at the main entrances of Tayrona Park if you prefer.
