My mother and I had such a great experience on this cruise! It was our first time doing a cruise like this, and we absolutely loved discovering so many incredible historical sites along the way. The itinerary was packed with visits from Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfu, Luxor and other sites. Each place had something special, but Edfu was hands down my favorite!! Just mesmerizing! Our tour guide’s name was Hady and I highly recommend him as a tour guide if you are able to choose him! What a wonderful person to have as our guide! He’s knowledgeable, organized, straightforward, funny, and knows how to keep everyone engaged. I particularly loved his storytelling and how he’d randomly pick people from our group to reenact scenes from ancient Egyptian history. We had some really good laughs! And it’s fun to visually learn this way too. I naturally love meeting and connecting with people, but Hady has a special ability to bring an entire group together. By the end, people who started as strangers were laughing and interacting like friends. That’s cool! And what I especially appreciated was his pride in Egyptian history and heritage. He reminded us several times that even when monuments showed Greek influences for examples, it was Egyptian hands that built them. I LOVED that! It’s so easy as a tourist to admire the architecture, take pictures, and move on without thinking about the people behind it all. Whose hands built these extraordinary places? What knowledge, skill, and hard work went into them? Hady made sure we understood that part of the story too, and I have so much respect for that.
On the practical side, everything was very well organized. We paid the entrance fees directly to Hady at the beginning, and he arranged the tickets in advance. No hassle figuring out tickets or waiting around at every entrance. We could simply arrive and enjoy the visits. The itinerar y is quite full, with some early mornings, so be prepared for that, but it’s absolutely worth it! Also, check what’s included in your package so you can budget for extras such as entrance fees, drinks, and tips. One useful tip: bring cash in Egyptian pounds, especially small bills for little purchases and bathrooms, as some require a small payment.
But yes…beyond being an excellent guide, what really sets Hady apart is his character! He’s genuinely kind, patient, funny, thoughtful, and attentive. My mother and I felt listened to, looked after, and cared for throughout the journey. I appreciated those little gestures. the way someone pays attention, makes time for you, and ensures you’re comfortable says a lot about who they are. Hady is simply a good person at heart, and that comes through naturally. We met wonderful people in the cruise , learned so much, shared plenty of laughter, and honestly feel like we made another friend in Egypt. I feel grateful!

We had a wonderful time on this cruise! We were able to visit so many temples in a short amount of time. The itinerary is quite busy, with very early mornings, but it’s absolutely worthwhile.
A special mention goes to our excellent tour guide, Hady. He was knowledgeable, punctual, respectful, and had a great sense of humor. His knowledge and personality really added to the experience and made the trip that much more enjoyable. If you’re lucky enough to have Hady as your guide, you’ll be in great hands!
The crew also made my birthday extra special with a surprise at dinner! They greeted me with singing and dancing and brought out a birthday cake, which was such a thoughtful and memorable touch.
