Good value for a budget safari, but be prepared to compromise
jade-melanie, October 2026
This was a decent budget safari: we visited major sites, saw plenty of wildlife, met great fellow travellers and had many main expenses included. However, the low price came with significant trade-offs.
Meals were repetitive buffets, often consisting of rice, beans and chicken, and several travellers experienced gastrointestinal problems, with two requiring medical attention. The final hotel in Naivasha was particularly disappointing, with inedible buffet food and poor accommodation.
Transport was cramped, with up to eight passengers plus luggage in each vehicle, and seating arrangements caused recurring tension. Upgrading accommodation did not change the shared vehicle setup. Communication was also inconsistent, making it unclear what was included or happening next. Although our guide was friendly and well connected, we felt he could have provided clearer information, more practical support and better group management.
There were also unexpected costs and underwhelming stops, including overpriced souvenir shops and a charge for the biking safari. The optional hot-air balloon ride was expensive, overcrowded and required sacrificing substantial safari time, so we did not consider it worthwhile.
Overall, we enjoyed the wildlife and most fellow travellers but would not wholeheartedly recommend this particular tour. A smaller group or private vehicle, better communication, more reliable food and stronger organisation would have made it much better. For us, paying more for a smoother, more inclusive experience would likely have been worthwhile.

Great Experience!
melissamU6112IT, October 2026
Choosing a safari company as a solo female traveler took a lot of research, and after reading so many wonderful reviews about Jocky Tours, I felt confident I was making the right choice—and they absolutely exceeded my expectations! Our five-day safari in the Masai Mara was an unforgettable experience, made even more special by our incredible guide, Alex. He was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely made us feel like family. Thanks to his experience and dedication, we were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five! He always went above and beyond to get us the best possible photo opportunities, making sure we had those special moments to capture and remember forever. I feel so fortunate to have experienced this adventure with Alex and cannot recommend Jocky Tours enough. If you’re researching safari companies and wondering who to trust with this once-in-a-lifetime experience, look no further!

Amazing Kenya safari experience

We had the best time ever!
The entire tour went flawlessly, and we were well looked after. Great food, plenty of water, and lovely accommodation.
Best of all was our tour guide, Ken. He knew exactly where the animals had been spotted and secured us front-row seats to see everything and get the best pictures.

Good for price
ishuc2018, October 2026
Overall experience was good, price was good for the values they give, our trip was for 5 days and 4 night in which the highlight i would like to mention is almost 1 and 2 days gets wasted in travelling and doing nothing we do understand that travelling time is included but the time you waste at the hotel is just wasted if you’re doing only 2 hour of activity in the morning or evening then rest of the day is literally wasted and doing nothing. Stays were good for the price but as vegetarians you dont get any options literally beans and rice all day. Nothing specific if you’re looking forward for anything special. There were 2 different groups which got joint in our trip so they change and shuffle people durinh your transport or whatever which really annoys at a point because you’re keep changing people around you and don’t finish with the same group with whom you planned. And its not even smooth and it is somehow very cool for them they don’t even consider about the experience for us. Our guide SIMON was amazing though through the trip but company didn’t really performed well in organising themselves they dont also clarify specific costs which you will be spending during during safaris they do tell these things for your itenery but don’t tell the fees which you need to pay separately so you can still enjoy for the price.

An unforgettable safari with David and Jocky Tours
agkag, October 2026
We experienced a five-day safari through the Masai Mara, Lake Nakuru, and Lake Naivasha: an extraordinary adventure, well-organized and full of unforgettable moments.
Our guide, David Mnyama, was exceptional: professional, punctual, helpful, and always smiling. Thanks to his deep knowledge of the area, he guided us with great competence, allowing us to discover spectacular landscapes and authentic aspects of Kenya's nature and culture.
The sightings were incredible: we saw many animals, often from very close up. David was able to identify every species and explain their behavior to us with passion. We also visited a Maasai village and took a beautiful boat ride on Lake Naivasha.
Throughout the entire trip, we felt safe and looked after with great attention. The organization of Jocky Tours was also excellent: the agency always responded quickly and courteously, both before and during the safari. The only small inconvenience, related to the hotel reservation for the last night, was resolved promptly by finding us an excellent alternative accommodation.
We would like to thank David and the entire Jocky Tours team for this intense and unforgettable experience. We wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who wishes to discover Kenya by relying on competent and passionate professionals.
