Visit local fruit farms and a picturesque pagoda along the river, where you'll be greeted by friendly locals. We'll pause in a village to discuss the local way of life. Continue to the Golden Gate Bridge near Kampong Pil Pagoda for photos with beautiful river views, before heading to the Bamboo Train.

Experience a ride on the original Bamboo Train, a unique opportunity as it's scheduled for closure. The ticket for the Bamboo Train costs $5 per person. Enjoy views of small villages and the surrounding countryside during your ride.

Ascend Phnom Sampeau, home to the Killing Caves and Bat Caves. Explore the cave where victims were tragically killed during the Pol Pot regime, with remains visible in a stupa. From the cave's summit, enjoy panoramic views and visit a Buddhist pagoda. Be aware of the monkeys on the mountain; maintain a safe distance as some can be aggressive. You can hike up the mountain or opt for a motorbike or pickup truck ride to the summit.

Witness the spectacular sight of millions of bats emerging from their cave at dusk, resembling a long dragon. This natural spectacle lasts for about 30 to 40 minutes. This is the final stop of our tour; after the Bat Caves, you will be returned to your hotel.

Very pleasant day despite the broken-up roads.

The roads were broken up by the rain. We had to take long detours through the countryside. The bamboo train is a dispensable activity. Do it once, not twice. Monotonous. The killing cave was more interesting, with bones still preserved. The guide was very talkative and explained everything to us about the Khmer Rouge. The bat cave is interesting for 15 minutes, after that it is always the same. But the experience is worth it. Very reasonable price.

The tour was absolutely amazing just like our guide, Bun! ❤️ Bun is incredibly kind, passionate, and knowledgeable about his country and its history. He showed us around downtown Battambang and shared fascinating stories about the city, its history, and the statues we came across. It was truly interesting and gave us a much deeper understanding of Battambang. Then we headed into the countryside, which was absolutely beautiful 😻. Bun introduced us to the local culture, explained the history of the area, and even taught us about the plants and everyday life in Cambodia. It was such a fascinating and authentic experience. We also visited the Bamboo Train, which was an amazing experience and felt so authentic! We met wonderful local people and some adorable kids. ❤️ We finished the day at Phnom Sampeau and the famous bat caves and wow… it was absolutely incredible! 😻 Watching thousands of bats fly out of the cave was truly unforgettable. Thank you so, so much, Bun! I’m incredibly grateful that our paths crossed during my travels. Great trip with Bun (whose English is really good). He gave us a varied trip of culture, countryside and fun. We visited parts of Battambang we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. The bamboo train is def a fun thing to do (and may be closed soon apparently) plus the killing caves (harrowing but important to learn about) and witnessing 5million bats flying from their roosting cave are simply a must do.
