Inspired by Hollywood Movies and TV that have brought to life America's infamous prison stories, Alcotraz is Liverpool's first immersive theatrical cocktail bar. From the orange jumpsuits upon entrance, to the real metallic cells, Alcotraz becomes the perfect backdrop to a drink within an epic yet intimate environment.
You won’t find a set menu of drinks here…after all, it is prison! The working inmates of Alcotraz will be serving unique, personalised cocktails behind bars using the liquor that visiting convicts will have smuggled in and your personal tastes. As new inmates you can expect to see your illegally smuggled liquor combined with liqueurs, bitters and homemade syrups to make bespoke, contemporary and classic cocktails perfect for your time behind bars.
Be as creative as you can with your attempts to smuggle-in liquor. Alternatively, Inmate Cassidy has got the Guards on your side who have their own system for hiding contraband. Just make sure the Warden doesn’t catch you.

Extremely disappointing experience at Alcotraz Liverpool.
What was supposed to be a fun experience with friends turned into a frustrating and upsetting evening.
Throughout the experience, we were encouraged to interact and get involved, so we followed those instructions. However, we were then told to be quiet, which was confusing and contradictory.
The situation escalated when one member of our group briefly undid her boiler suit. We were subsequently removed from the experience because of this.
We have a video showing what happened, which I will include with this review so that people can judge the circumstances for themselves.
We paid for an immersive experience and participated as we were instructed. Instead, we were made to feel uncomfortable and were asked to leave, leaving us feeling that our money had been wasted.
I understand that venues have rules and that staff must enforce them. However, the way this situation was handled felt disproportionate, particularly as we were trying to engage with the experience as instructed.
Sadly, this was not the enjoyable night out we expected, and based on our experience, we would not return.
I would not recommend Alcotraz for hen parties, stag parties, or similar group events.

What a wonderful time we had being in Alcotraz. A definite “must do” if you are in the Liverpool area. The Actors are fun and interactive with everyone. The inmates that have “kitchen duty” are the best bartenders. We smuggled a bottle of gin into the prison, they made 4 very different drinks with it. Trust me, let them do their thing! Again, kudos a MUST DO!

Upon booking & then realising you have to take to own spirits for the cocktails I thought what a rip off. Actually worth every penny! The booze you smuggle in is part of the experience. Just the funniest! Loved every minute. Well executed with the actors & your involvement in the acting. I will definitely return! Totally fabulous, funny experience if you are looking for something different to do!
