Our journey commences at the magnificent Plaka Bridge, a remarkable single-arch stone structure measuring 20 meters high and 40 meters wide, the largest of its kind in the Balkans. After being fully equipped with specialized rafting gear, we embark on our downstream adventure.
No prior rafting experience is necessary for this thrilling excursion. We will navigate waters classified as Class III WW difficulty, offering a captivating experience amidst vibrant reflections.
As we paddle along the river, you'll be enveloped by the breathtaking beauty of the surrounding landscape. The canyon walls soar up to 700 meters, creating a dramatic panorama and providing spectacular views of the Arachthos Gorge and its pristine waters.
The river's flow varies seasonally: in winter, the waterfall is powerful and full, while in summer, some sections may have very little water, and certain spots might even be dry.
After an exhilarating 9-kilometer descent, our rafting trip concludes in the Tzari area. Our buses will transport us back to Alpine Zone’s base, located just a short distance past the Plaka Bridge. Here, our friendly staff will offer traditional syrupy sweets, refreshing water, and provide changing rooms and washing facilities.

The rafting experience made our trip! It was an excellent way to add some variety to our trip to Tzoumerka. Our guide, Kostas, surprised us with his impressive Hebrew and managed to create a high atmosphere even when the water level was low 😉. The equipment provided was top-notch, and the entire experience was an absolute pleasure!

Kostos was our guide, and he was excellent! He was professional and made sure we were safe and yet had a great time. He was personable and shared about the nature and life in this area of greece, and created for us a memorable experience which was a highlight of our trip.
The company is well run. Theh know what they are doing, and do it well. We had all the equipment we needed, and with the wetsuit and life jackets, those of us who wanted could jump in to the wster st designated places, and float on the river, including in s brief area of rushing water, a safe but adrenaline filled highlight.
They also took great pictures and videos which were sent to us right after.
We fully recommend them, and specifically our guide Kostos.

We did the Arachthos river rafting trip in early October and had an incredible time. Our guide, Kostas, was exceptionally professional, friendly, and kept safety as the top priority throughout the whole descent. He shared fascinating stories about the local area and river, which made the trip even more special. On top of that, he took fantastic pictures and video footage of us during the trip!
Everything was well-organized, smooth, and fun. Highly recommended to anyone visiting the region!
