Gorgeous and fun way to explore Asheville!

We loved our bike tour and the history we learned about the area. Biking through the various neighborhoods, and even seeing a black bear, were definitely the highlights!! We would highly recommend this tour!

A little exercise with a little Asheville history
Flyer781610, October 2026
The starting location in the river arts district has ample free parking and a restroom a short walk across the lot. Our guide was enthusiastic and friendly, and made an effort to learn everyone’s name. The first part of the ride was an out-and-back a short distance along the French Broad River, which I felt was a waste of time. Nothing to see. We then rode to a downtown candy shop where we were treated to salt water taffy and where water was available to buy, then through a quiet residential neighborhood (with goats!) and past UNC Asheville, where one rider got a flat tire. This was the guide’s first experience with a flat while leading a tour, and she had no tools or other equipment on hand to fix it. She was able to call for a replacement bike, but this required the group to wait at least 30 minutes. The rest of the ride was uneventful and included a stop at the Grove Park Inn, which was spectacular. I would have enjoyed more time in downtown Asheville, or riding around the UNC campus if not too much traffic. There are hills on the route that are easily managed with the e-bikes. Some prior cycling experience is helpful. Bring water - we drank all the water we brought plus the water we bought at the candy shop.

Fun All Over Asheville

9/26/26 - 1st time on an e-bike. Went with 5 other HS friends. We were celebrating our 60th birthdays. I liked the route; we saw various sides of Asheville. Nature & city. Our guide was knowledgeable, fun, patient, safety-conscious and kind. His love for Asheville came through. The meeting point being at a micro-brewery was great!! E-bikes were in good condition. It was our favorite activity of the weekend and we all want to buy an e-bike now. Highly recommend!!!!

Fun Way to See Asheville
Jonathan_M, October 2026
This was a fantastic way to see Asheville and learn about its history. It was our first time using e-bikes and the tutorial Randy gave got us going quickly. Having the electric support made the hills in Asheville easy to manage. Randy is a knowledgeable and fun tour guide. The Grove Park Inn is a must-see. We would absolutely go back and do the tasting tour on another trip to Asheville. Come have fun with Flying Bike!
