Must do foodie experience
megandream, October 2026
JK was professional, knowledgeable, and very interesting. We enjoyed his commentary on the history of New Zealand paired with his extensive knowledge in the culinary arts.
The restaurants we visited were exciting and local and we really fell in love with the Auckland food scene.

We had the most amazing experience with JK, it was my wife and I and the whole experience was so well done, everything was seemless and JK was so knowledgeable and answered any questions we had, well worth the money and a lovely man. Thank you very much!
Response from the operator · Elle A Thank you so much for such a lovely review! We’re delighted you both had such a fantastic time with JK, he really is a gem, and we’re very lucky to have him on the Big Foody team.
We absolutely LOVE showing off Auckland, its food stories and its brilliant award-winning restaurants. There’s so much more to New Zealand’s food scene than most visitors realise, and introducing our guests to the people, places and flavours that make it special is exactly why we do what we do.

Amazing food tour of Auckland
MikeKline1950, September 2026
J.K. was our guide. He was very friendly and very excited to introduce us to the Auckland food scene. He ws very knowledgeable about the local wines, and introduced us to the different wines of New Zealand. The walking tour was very well done. J.K. give us a good history lesson on Auckland and introduced us to some amazing foods. The tour itself is about 3 hours long, but it was very walkable. We sampled food at 5 different places and they all were very good. We highly recommend this tour, and if you get J.K. as your guide im sure you will too.
Response from the operator · Elle A Thank you so much for the wonderful review! JK will be delighted to hear this, his enthusiasm for Auckland, New Zealand wine and, of course, great food is wonderfully infectious.
We’re especially pleased you enjoyed the variety of the five stops. We’re incredibly particular about where we take our guests, and the restaurants and eateries we visit are all locally and internationally awarded, while still giving you a genuine taste of Auckland’s food scene.
Three hours of eating, drinking, walking and storytelling sounds like a pretty good way to discover our city to us! Thank you for joining us and for recommending both the tour and JK so highly. We hope we get to feed you again one day!
