Vacation Ruined by Last Minute Cancellation

Do not trust this platform or their operators. I spent over $700 and wasted the #1 day of my vacation abroad traveling to Holbox for an activity, only for them to completely ruin it.They officially notified me of the cancellation just 1.5 hours before the scheduled start time, claiming the tour operator has the right to cancel whenever they want. To make matters worse, I later found out the activity had actually been cancelled 8 days ago. They knew about it for over a week and deliberately chose not to inform me until the last minute.When I complained, they lied and claimed the tour operator had contacted me earlier which is a complete fabrication. No one took responsibility. Instead, they had the audacity to offer a insulting 10% discount on a future purchase to make up for a $700 loss and a completely ruined vacation day.They do not value your time, money, or travel plans. Avoid them at all costs.

When dealing with natural experiences (such as bioluminescence tours, whale shark sightings, or stargazing), weather patterns and moonlight intensity directly dictate whether an activity can safely or successfully run:
Bioluminescence and Moonlight: High ambient light from a full moon washes out bioluminescence, making it virtually invisible. Operating a tour under those conditions leads to poor customer experiences and negative feedback regarding the quality of the display.
Weather & Port Closures: Coastal activities around Holbox and the Riviera Maya are heavily regulated by maritime authorities (such as the Capitanía de Puerto). If wind, sea swells, or storms hit, ports are officially closed for safety, prohibiting vessels from leaving shore regardless of advanced schedules.
Unpredictable Shift: While long-term weather or lunar forecasts give general indications, localized sea and cloud conditions often shift rapidly right before a scheduled excursion, necessitating last-minute calls for customer safety.
When you decide to take a tour like de bioluminescent, it's all about the weather conditions and the moonlight ,it's always a possibility the tour need to cancel in your case, this it's what happen.

Bioluminescence, this unknown thing, saw nothing, just mosquitoes

Mind-blowing experience, there was only a shadow of bioluminescence, two colored dots on a black cloth, nothing in the water or while walking or swimming; on the other hand, the mosquitoes devoured me despite kilos of spray and I had to resort to medical treatment.
The person who organized the tour stood us up the first night, the second night he arrived half an hour late, with a guide who didn't know a word of English, we went into the jungle where there were dozens of other taxis and avalanches of people with no bioluminescence. It seems very much like a marketing initiative or something beautiful that was then ruined by wild tourism. A total disappointment

Amico mio, ti stai confondendo con un’altra agenzia. 1) noi diamo il tour con la muta da sub giustamente per evitare punture di zanzare ai nostri clienti. 2) non siamo mai arrivati con mezz’ora di ritardo e tanto meno abbiamo dato buca a qualcuno dei nostri clienti. Controlla bene il nome della tua agenzia prima di scrivere una recensione del genere. E per la prossima volta, solo un consiglio: prenotate con noi!

Bioluminescence a must when in Holbox

It was a wonderful experience. Alejandro does a great job communicating prior to the excursion, provides all the gear and is a wealth of knowledge about the bioluminescence and imparts his knowledge of the zodiac constellation. Put on lots of mosquito repellent if doing the tour in the Summer it helps tremendously.

I have been to Holbox before, but never with Alex to see the bioluminescence, definitely my best experience, they pick you up, they are very kind, they give a 10/10 explanation, and the most fabulous thing, THE WETSUITS THAT HELP KEEP THE MOSQUITOES FROM BITING YOU AS MUCH.
