About the activity

Experience the only FULL WALKING TOUR of Bonaventure Cemetery that includes TRANSPORTATION. This is the most accurate Bonaventure Tour available, hands down! Many other tours begin at the cemetery gates and present a scripted narrative filled with myths, legends, and outright falsehoods, designed solely to extract money from visitors. With me, you'll benefit from a 6th-generation Savannahian and an academically trained historian with over 30 years in the Savannah hospitality industry. I possess insider knowledge and a passion for sharing the stories. All this, combined with genuine Southern Hospitality! Enjoy convenient door-to-door service from downtown Savannah, or choose to meet me at the cemetery if you prefer to drive yourself. Complimentary bottled water is provided, along with everything else you'll need for a pleasant stroll among the oaks.

Itinerary

Bonaventure Cemetery
This is a comprehensive tour of the cemetery, primarily conducted on foot. We will drive through the sections not covered by the walking tour on our way in and out. The cemetery spans over 100 acres, but our walking tour focuses on the historic section. This extensive tour is offered at a price comparable to what other tours charge simply to 'meet you out there.'

PICK-UP IS AVAILABLE ONLY WITHIN THE HISTORIC OR VICTORIAN DISTRICTS OF SAVANNAH!

I provide pick-up services at all hotels, B&Bs, inns, and numerous trolley stops throughout the Downtown Savannah area, starting about 20 minutes before the tour.

I will call an hour in advance to provide a precise pick-up time. Pick-ups must be within the Downtown Area (Historic District and Victorian District) at a designated loading zone or legal trolley stop.

If you are uncertain about your location, please provide the address of your accommodation, and I will advise on the best pick-up spot.

As long as you are within or near my downtown pick-up radius, I can likely collect you from your VRBO or inn.

I CANNOT offer pick-ups south of Victory Drive due to the distance, which makes timely pick-ups challenging within 20 minutes. In such cases, you would need to meet the group at Bonaventure Cemetery.

Alternatively, you have the option to MEET THE TOUR directly at the cemetery. Please inform me of your preference after booking so I can make the necessary arrangements.

Guests are required to provide a pick-up location and a cell phone number for coordination before the tour.

Simply inform me of your accommodation, and I will direct you to the nearest pick-up point. I can collect guests from most hotels and B&Bs, or a nearby trolley stop.

I will contact you about an hour before the tour to confirm the exact meeting spot and time. In most cases, pick-up is directly from your hotel or rental.

Pick-ups are limited to the Downtown Savannah area north of 37th Street.

Please feel free to call me if you have any questions.

Beautiful peaceful place...
Karen_H, October 2026
Beautiful peaceful place filled with history and lovely statues. The best experience of my visit. Guide knowledgeable. Provided lots of rich history and stories of the many families buried in the cemetery.
★★★★★Tripadvisor review
Well worth it.
ChristianS26898, October 2026
Tim was excellent. Super knowledgable and very accommodating. He knows the ins and outs of that cemetery, as well as the history of Savannah. We did some other tours as well, but this was our favorite one, as well as most informative. He operates his own little company, and I implore anyone reading this to give him your business. He loves what he does, and it shows.

This tour worth its price~ Just take it!

Tim was a terrific guide through the cemetary. Pickup & drop off smooth, clean and comfortable. His depth of knowledge of the cemetary and Savannah itself was huge. No fluff~ just the true stuff. Definitely worth the price. I can't imagine doing a self- guided tour...so much would be missed.

Great thing to do if you have the time!
lizy412, October 2026
This is a really cool cemetery! It’s very picturesque with a lot of history. Each grave looks different and has some story behind it. The Northeast doesn’t have cemetery’s that have all the history like in the south. I went with my family of 6. There were about 6 other people on the tour with us. Unfortunately, it was pouring off and on throughout the entire tour, but I guess it helps set the eerie mood of the place! Our tour guide Tim, knew so much about the Cemetery and the individual graves. You could ask him anything and he knew the answer. Definitely recommend if you like history and want to see something well known in Savannah!
