Really lovely and interesting experience from start to finish. Started with a little tour and info in Corn Street, with pictures of the blitz, and progressed underground in St Nicholas Market, absolutely fascinating with original artefacts and very detailed and knowledgeable narrative from Duncan, who was brilliant, with a good mix of humour too.

A glimpse to Bristol's past

If you would like to get a glimpse into how ordinary people experienced the Blitz in Bristol, I can highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Owen, really brought it to life for us with pictures, everyday objects and some really good stories. You can see how this team takes pride in what they do in how they talk about the artefacts, in the joy of finding clues and proof to some of the assumptions around the shelter, in the way they share stories of previous visitors with a connection to the place. I look forward to coming back once the museum is opened (currently you can only take guided tours and pre-booking is required).
