Cape Coast Castle
Spend 1 hour exploring Cape Coast Castle, with entrance fees included. Cape Coast Castle stands as one of Ghana's most significant surviving structures, originally built by European forces. Its history began as a Portuguese trading lodge in 1555 on a part of the Gold Coast that would later be known as Cape Coast. In 1653, the Swedish Africa Company erected a permanent wooden fort to facilitate trade in gold and timber after Sweden took control of the Cape Coast. Today, it houses the regional office of the Ghana Museums and Monuments Board and functions as a historical museum, complete with a gift shop offering Ghanaian arts and crafts.

2
Elmina Castle
Dedicate 1 hour to Elmina Castle, with entrance fees included. The Portuguese established Elmina Castle in Elmina, Ghana (formerly the Gold Coast) in 1482, naming it So Jorge da Mina (St. George of the Mine). As the first trading post established on the Gulf of Guinea, Elmina Castle is the oldest European structure still standing south of the Sahara. Initially a trading colony, it evolved into a crucial site in the Atlantic slave trade. Elmina Castle, a renowned historical landmark, was a filming location for Werner Herzog's 1987 drama film "Cobra Verde." It serves as a poignant reminder of the slave trade's history and is a highly sought-after destination for African American travelers seeking to connect with their heritage.

3
Kakum National Park
Enjoy 2 hours in Kakum National Park, with entrance fees included. Kakum National Park, situated within the Kakum Rainforest, is Ghana's most visited attraction. It features a remarkable canopy walkway suspended 40 meters above the ground, offering breathtaking views of the forest and its wildlife.

Cape Coast Tour
g0dsp0werp, October 2026
Our tour guide was Patrick. Pickup time was communicated efficiently the day before and the tour guide kept to time. Cape Coast is a pretty long drive from Accra, but Patrick engaged us actively all the the way. It was a great experience overall. Highly recommended!

Great tour, but a long day FYI
Matt_J, October 2026
We were picked up in a mini van which was air conditioned and comfortable. The tour was as advertised, visiting Kukum National Park, Cape Coast Castle and Elmina Castle. Our guide was good and adapted to the needs of the group. The sights were all very interesting and well worth the visit. The only thing to know is that it is a very long day (14 hours) with a lot of driving, some of it on fairly bumpy roads.
Response from the operator · EXP_EMMANUELLA
Thank you so much for your detailed review. We’re glad you enjoyed the Cape Coast, Elmina, and Kakum experience and that our guide was attentive and able to accommodate the group’s needs. We also appreciate your helpful note about the long journey and road conditions. Thank you for choosing Expedition-Go Tours, and we hope to welcome you again to explore more of Ghana. 🇬🇭✨

Long Ride Experience
789earlf, September 2026
Seeing the castles was very good. The tour guides at each castle were excellent. Due to knee problems with all the walking I did not do the hike at the national park. The drive to and from my hotel was very uncomfortable. The roads were awful in a lot of places along the way. It turned out to be 15 hour day for me. If I had known that before I would not have booked the tour.
Response from the operator · Sherpa37432239276
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed visiting the castles and found the guides at each site excellent. We also appreciate your concerns regarding the journey and the condition of some of the roads. Unfortunately, road conditions are outside our direct control, and while we completely understand how they can affect the overall comfort and duration of the experience, there is unfortunately very little we can do as a tour operator to change them. We continue to raise these concerns with the relevant authorities and remain hopeful that ongoing improvements to Ghana’s road network will make journeys more comfortable for both visitors and local communities. The Cape Coast experience can also become a particularly long day depending on traffic, road conditions, pickup location, and other circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate your feedback regarding making the possible duration clearer, as this helps us improve the information we provide to future guests. With Expedition-Go Tours, we always make sure our clients get the best of experience, and we truly appreciate you choosing to explore Ghana with us.

Amazing Tour, highly recommend!
Ama_A, September 2026
This was a well thought out tour and our driver and our tour guide Emmanuel was incredibly kind and attentive. They spoke deeply about the history of the country and our surroundings and kept us entertained for the long ride. The vehicle was air conditioned, waters were provided, and the clean and comfortable. They picked us up on time and drop us off in a timely manner as well! I highly recommend this tour to cape coast and elmina. The history is rich and there is so much to learn. Kakum national park was amazing as well and fun addition!
