2 Government House Museum
Government House dominates the west end of the Town Plaza, a unique Spanish land use component lying within a National Historic Landmark District. Along coasts, plazas were to begin at the waterfront - to see and to be seen.
Since 1598, a government building has stood on this site with a view of the harbor landing, accommodating administrative headquarters and residences of colonial governors appointed by the Crowns of Spain, then Britain, then Spain again.
After Spain ceded Florida to the United States in 1821, this current Government House served as a courthouse and briefly as a Capitol of the new Territory of Florida.

Our tour guide, Bob, met us at the Governor's House. We got all of the requirements accomplished, got some history of the building and we were off. Great food, wine and history are a great combination. A super enjoyable way to spend the day!

Anniversary Fun
Isela_L, October 2026
Nina was a great tour guide! We learned a little bit of history and tried some wine and some cocktails from a distillery! My favorite dish was from the Odd Bird. So good. It was a Venezuelan dish! We rode on the golf cart through the city it was fun!! We had a good time.
Response from the operator · TTTStAugustine Thank you for spending your anniversary with us! 🎉 We’re so glad Nina made the tour fun and that you enjoyed the history, wine, and cocktails. And we have to agree, Odd Birds is a great stop! We’re happy you found a new favorite with the Venezuelan dish. The electric vehicle is a fun way to see a little more of the city, too.
We hope you both had a wonderful anniversary and get to visit us again next time you’re in St. Augustine! 😊
Cheers!!
