Salina Turda
We will travel 31 km to the Turda Salt Mine. Enjoy a guided tour in English followed by free time to explore the facilities, which include a Ferris Wheel, mini-golf, bowling, boating on the underground lake, pool table, and table tennis. Around 12:30 PM, we will depart for our second attraction.

Cheile Turzii
After visiting the salt mine, we will drive for 30 minutes to Turda Gorge. This canyon is nearly 3 km long with 300-meter high walls sculpted from weathered limestone. Depending on your physical condition, we will undertake a 5 km or 9 km hike in a circular route. Discover a wild karst landscape with high cliffs, sharp ridges, rock towers, walking paths, climbing routes, hiking trails, and numerous caves. The Gorge is a protected area for its geology, biology, and archaeology, with evidence of Neolithic habitation in its caves. The canyon boasts unique flora and fauna. Don't forget your camera to capture the impressive geological formations created by a river over millions of years.

Rimetea
Following the hike, we will travel to Rimetea village. Renowned for its traditional white houses with green window frames, Rimetea is one of Romania's best-preserved and most beautiful rural villages. It was the first village in the country to receive the Europa Nostra award for its architectural preservation. Historically, Rimetea was a significant mining and blacksmithing center. It is situated in a picturesque area, surrounded by 500-600 meter high limestone massifs and bisected by the Rimetea River. We will take a village tour and then enjoy a traditional Romanian meal.

We will make a brief stop at a monastery painted by nuns. Entrance to the monastery is included. In the evening, we will return you to Cluj-Napoca.

A magnificent day spent with our guide! Tudor is a real asset to this itinerary; his passion and all the culture of the region allow you to see this region in a different light. The itinerary is rich and varied; the salt mine is truly impressive, followed by the hike in the gorges, which is very relaxing even if it requires being careful because of the slippery stones. Then the meal is ideally located in a small town, the coffee is excellent. Very human, very relaxing, very refreshing, thank you Tudor for sharing this!
