Surprised by the good reviews
Nananielsen10, October 2026
I had heard about the museum in several different ways and thought it might be very fun to experience. The theme and idea are good, but the experience and price don't match. I am quite surprised by the many good reviews, because I don't quite think that was the experience I had. The museum is quite small and shows a number of exhibited food items. Some of them are KitKat with a special flavor, a can with a picture of some canned food, coriander, or something made of plastic. And then there are 5 different smells that smell the same. The experience concludes with an offer to taste some different things, which they have in plastic buckets behind the bar. I had expected the taste samples to be next to the exhibitions. We used about 30 minutes. I think there was a lack of further development of the concept and the idea behind it. One gets a feeling that one doesn't want to invest much money in it. The staff were really nice though.

Had a great time. Staff are knowledgeable and friendly. As it says, some of it is really disgusting but worth it!

Highly recommend!

So memorable! Set in central Malmö and super easy to get to, had so much fun. The staff were really knowledgeable and friendly. I would allow a couple of hours if you decide to do the tasting bar at the end, which I would highly recommend - it was temporary pain/discomfort for being able to say you tried all the wild food, plus they have a wheel you can spin for a prize if you try everything (be careful though as there are punishments on there too!) I would just note that if you're vegan or vego there are very limited options at the tasting bar, and some of the exhibits are quite confronting especially for animal lovers.

Interesting and Quick

Fun and quick. They have an assortment of what is recreations of what the food looked like along with some history of where that food is eaten. There is a smell of decay inside. The tasting menu was nice. Had hot sauces, Korean milk soda, some bugs.

Disgusting, Delicious, and Surprisingly Fun
R3287MTgustavod, September 2026
This was one of the most memorable and fun experiences of our trip. Alexander helped us with our “menu,” and he was amazing. He was incredibly friendly and playful, and made the experience of tasting some truly terrible foods even more fun. I managed to taste everything, while my partner finally gave up at the salty licorice! One of the biggest surprises was that the cheeses were probably among the hardest things to eat, while some of the insects and worms were actually surprisingly delicious. The tasting experience is absolutely worth the price, and if you complete the challenge, you even get a small gift at the end. Surprisingly, some of the sniffing pots were worse than the actual foods themselves. The whole museum is very well done because it is not just about shock value. It is interactive, funny, and genuinely interesting. We had such a good time. They are opening more locations around the world, but I am really glad we got to visit the original museum in Malmö. Definitely worth adding to your visit!
