Your journey begins with a 15-minute road transfer from your hotel to the port. A scenic 20-minute speedboat ride will take you to the Uros Islands. Taquile Island
After a one-hour journey, we arrive at Taquile Island for a 5.5-hour visit. We booked after 9pm for a next day tour and had no issue coordinating via WhatsApp with the late booking. Our guide was Victor, who was informative, helpful and seamlessly communicated everything clearly in both English and Spanish. Locals are involved in the tours at both Uros floating villages and the Taquile island demonstrations with Victor providing additional info and translations. Lunch was a choice of local trout or omelette. The boat was clean, comfy and in great working order. Highly recommend.

An unmissable experience. Perfectly organized from the very reservation. Clear and constant communication. Sharing for a while the life of the Uros with their simplicity and their joy of living with the minimum but in freedom. The beauty of the Taquile landscapes. The speedboat in very good condition and clean. A special mention for Fredy, a native Uros university guide who showed all his knowledge and cordiality with every visitor and is the pride of the community.

Very enjoyable tour with Freddy who gave extra insight into Uros lifestyle because his family live there. The floating islands are amazing. Everything was well explained in English and Spanish. The lunch was very good, thanks to the chef of Taquile who also demonstrated the use of a natural soap from a kind of cactus. The boat ride was very smooth and sent us to sleep!

We enjoyed this trip a lot! Esteban was a great tour guide who spoke English and Spanish slowly and clearly so we could understand him well. He was also extra patient with us to ensure everybody gets the time they need to explore Titikaka lake. We are happy we chose this tour with him and we definitely recommend it. Be aware that in order to explore Taquile island, you need to climb the hill. But you'll get all the time you need to do it on your own pace.
