Such A Good Safari
Safari13349145855, September 2026
One thing I really liked about our Yala safari was that it never felt like we were just ticking places off a list. We had a full day with Janaka, and we could actually slow down and enjoy whatever came in front of us. There were animals we expected to see, but also little moments we didn’t expect at all. Watching the buffalo and its tiny calf, seeing birds moving around the trees and suddenly noticing animals further away made the day feel different every time we drove somewhere new.
Janaka was very easy to travel with. He didn’t talk too much or make the day feel complicated. He just seemed to understand when we wanted to stop, when we wanted to take photos and when it was better to simply sit quietly and watch. He also drove carefully, which I appreciated because we were in the jeep for so many hours. Even during the lunch break inside the park near the beach, everything felt relaxed and unhurried.
By the end of the day, what stayed with me wasn’t just the number of animals we saw. It was how comfortable the whole experience felt. Janaka made it easy for us to enjoy Yala in our own way, and that’s something I really appreciated. If someone asked me who I would book with for a Yala safari, I’d honestly recommend Janaka. I’d be happy to have him as our driver again.

Loved Our Safari With Janaka
sadewvd, September 2026
The moment I keep thinking about from our Yala safari was seeing a buffalo walking through the park with a tiny calf on its back. I honestly wasn’t expecting to see something like that, and it was such a cute and funny sight at the same time. We also came across plenty of birds, deer and other wildlife during the day, so there was always something happening around us. Having the whole day to explore made a big difference because we didn’t feel like we had to rush from one sighting to another.
Our driver Janaka was really good at making sure we didn’t miss these little moments. He was always watching the surroundings and would quietly point things out to us when he noticed something. I liked that he didn’t make the safari feel like a race. If we wanted to stop and watch an animal for a while, he was completely fine with that. He was also careful with the driving, which made the long day much more comfortable.
For me, Janaka was one of the best parts of the experience. He was friendly, patient and genuinely seemed to enjoy showing us around Yala. That buffalo and calf moment alone gave us a memory we’ll probably talk about for a long time. If you’re planning a Yala safari and want someone who will actually let you enjoy the little moments, I’d definitely recommend Janaka. I would choose him again without hesitation.

Really Loved Ish’s Safari💫
Excursion34753748050, September 2026
I didn’t really know what to expect from a full-day safari, but Yala with Ish turned out to be one of the most enjoyable days of our trip. He picked us up from Tissamaharama and made everything feel very easy from the start. What I noticed most was how patient he was. When we came across something interesting, he never rushed us away just to cover more ground. We could sit there, watch the animals and take our time, which made the sightings feel much more special.
We also had a nice lunch break inside the park near the beach, which gave us a chance to relax before getting back into the jeep. After lunch we continued exploring and saw plenty of birds and wildlife along the way. The day went by surprisingly quickly, even though we spent so many hours inside the park. It felt more like an adventure than just another activity we had booked.
Ish was honestly a big reason the day went so smoothly. He was friendly without being over the top, drove carefully and always seemed to know when to slow down or stop. We never felt uncomfortable or pressured at any point. If I had to recommend one thing to someone planning their Yala safari, I would definitely tell them to ask for Ish. I would happily do another safari with him if I’m back in Yala.

Happy We Had Amila✨
Pioneer51115082623, September 2026
The Yala safari turned out to be such a nice experience for us. We started from Tissamaharama with Amila, and right from the beginning he was really friendly and easy to get along with. He knew the park well and was constantly looking around for animals and birds, even things we probably would have missed ourselves. We had some really exciting sightings during the day, but I also enjoyed the quieter moments when we just stopped and watched the animals without disturbing them.
Since it was a full-day safari, we had enough time to explore properly without feeling like we had to rush. We stopped inside the park near the beach for lunch, which was honestly one of the nicest little parts of the day. After that we continued the drive and found a few more interesting spots before heading back. By the time we reached the hotel, we were tired but felt like we had actually experienced Yala rather than just visited it.
Amila deserves a special mention because he made the whole day comfortable. He was patient, careful with the driving and always gave us time to enjoy what we were seeing. He also had a very calm way of handling everything, which made us feel relaxed throughout the safari. If I ever come back to Yala, I would definitely be happy to have Amila as our driver again. I would recommend him to anyone who wants to enjoy the safari without feeling rushed.

Really Recommend Janaka💯2

We booked the full day Yala safari and ended up having one of those days that you keep talking about afterwards. Janaka picked us up from Tissamaharama and from the first few minutes we felt comfortable with him. He was not the type of driver who just drives around the park. He was always watching the surroundings, pointing out birds and animals, and giving us time when something interesting appeared. We saw quite a lot during the day, but what I enjoyed most was that nothing felt forced or rushed.
The break around lunchtime was also really nice. We stopped inside the park near the beach, had our lunch and took some time to enjoy the surroundings before continuing. After spending so many hours in the jeep, that little break was actually perfect. We continued the safari afterwards and Janaka kept the whole day relaxed and enjoyable. By the time we reached the hotel around 6, we were tired but really happy with how the day went.
Honestly, Janaka is the person I would recommend if you want to enjoy Yala properly. He was calm, friendly and careful, and we felt completely safe with him. More than anything, he seemed genuinely interested in making sure we enjoyed what we came to see. After our experience, I can easily understand why someone would want to do another safari with Janaka. I would definitely choose him again.
