Wear spiritual protection, do not take kids on this tour

I went to Gettysburg on a day trip and joined this walking ghost-hunting tour on Oct 3 (near the Warrior Stadium). The Guide Marc was very personable and a psychic sensitive. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the area.During the tour, I started feeling increasingly panicked and uneasy, especially around certain areas/markers where I felt pulled to stay away. There were also wooded sections and hills nearby, and I felt like something was “watching” from those directions. I didn’t feel safe approaching those areas, even when the group was moving closer.
The tour included copper “dowsing” tools, and the guide kept getting signals that pointed toward the hills/wooded area. I was wearing a scarf because it was chilly, and I suddenly felt compelled to cover my hair. Later, the guide told us he wouldn’t be surprised if my presence “triggered” activity—he mentioned that I’m a Black woman and an Iraq war veteran.
I also use protective items (like a jade bracelet and other protections at home and in my personal space). That night, I had what felt like a very vivid, frightening dream. I dreamed of a group of soldiers along a road bordered by woods similar to the area from the tour. In the dream, they seemed aware of me, but not openly hostile—they kept moving/wandering.
Then I noticed a soldier appear—wearing what looked like an old-style uniform. He looked human, but his face felt “wrong,” and I remember seeing unsettling features (like unnatural sharp yellow teeth, yellow eyes and snake like nose). In the dream, he confronted me with hateful language, racial slurs and aggressive intent. I responded by calling on protective/spiritual prayers/ancestral names (including my great-grandmother’s and other relatives’ names). The soldier suddenly stopped advancing, as if restrained by something invisible, and then vanished. I woke up gasping and checked myself for any injuries or marks—there were none.
For context, I grew up hearing that my great-grandmother and great-grandfather were spiritual practitioners, and that my grandmother was deeply protective. I’m sharing this because it genuinely shook me, and I’m trying to understand what it might mean—whether it was a dream influenced by stress/fear from the tour, or something else.

Thank you for taking the time to describe your experience in such detail. We’re glad you found Marc personable and knowledgeable about Gettysburg’s history, but we’re sorry to hear that the tour left you feeling frightened and unsettled afterward.
Our ghost hunts are intended to be an entertaining exploration of Gettysburg history, local stories, and commonly used ghost-hunting equipment. Guests can certainly have strong emotional reactions to the locations and stories, but we would not want to suggest that a frightening dream or experience afterward was caused by anything supernatural.
We also appreciate your comments about the discussion during the tour. A guest’s personal background should always be handled thoughtfully and respectfully, particularly when discussing sensitive subjects.
Thank you again for sharing your experience. We hope the rest of your visit to Gettysburg was enjoyable.
