Great Tour of Old Town Bratislava
P8042YGcb, October 2026
Sebastian was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about showing us around the Old Town and the Castle. His assortment of maps helped us visualize the change in country boundaries over the centuries. We did have a little trouble finding the meeting point, even with GPS. Maybe better to meet around front of the building facing the square.

City walking tour Bratislava

Our guide was delightful-shared so much about her city and answered all questions. Gave us much of the history of the city but also included interesting stories to make the tour very enjoyable. Highly recommend taking this tour!

Two tours in one booking: The ‘free tours’ are highly recommended and well worth a generous tip!
BeritThS_V, October 2026
We had booked this city and castle tour on the 24th but ended up making the other choice of joining 1) Sebastian on the ‘20th Century Tour World War 2 and Communism’ free tour instead, joining 2) Martina on the originally booked City and Castle Tour the following day on the 25th instead. This review is therefore split in two to cover both:
1) Sebastion was engaging and well spoken delivering the modern history of Bratislava and Slovakia with highlights, lowlights and anecdotes while still providing an overview and context to help understand the last 100 years of changes. Sebastian undoubtedly had depths of knowledge and willingness to share and answer any questions in the smaller group, and he managed to keep our attention through the rain. We were so happy we got this opportunity to join in the tour which we hadn’t planned for but really wouldn’t have missed out on. What a bonus. The sights enroute provided good references to the stories and history shared, spiced up with some recommendations on where to dine and get the best ‘pirozky’ on Obchodná – both the dining place and the snack place were tried out successfully during our stay, several times: Thank you, Sebastian.
2) Martina guided us with enthusiasm and as much information as she could pack into her comments on the stops enroute for us walking with her to get more insights into the older history of Bratislava. Without doubt, Martina is a dedicated guide, she is knowledgeable and displays great willingness to share. She was thoughtful of her bigger group and attending to those may be needing some extra minutes or a helping hand up the hill, or shade for the sun. It’s impressive how well facts and stories are delivered in such an engaging way. I would happily spend double the time listening to you about Bratislava and Slovak history: Thank you, Martina.
