Muggles are welcome! Embark on a magical journey through the medieval buildings of Oxford University, visiting New College and the Bodleian Library.
Your tour will be led by an engaging Oxford student guide, complete with a quiz, props, and plenty of jokes and puns!
This experience is perfect for devoted Harry Potter fans, those who secretly love it, and even those with no prior interest looking for a fun way to explore.
The tour also touches upon other famous literary works such as Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, The Hobbit, and Lord of the Rings, alongside the rich history of Oxford University.
1 Blackwell's Bookshop
While not quite Flourish and Blotts, Blackwell's Bookshop is the closest a muggle bookshop can get. It's a Ravenclaw's dream, housing approximately 250,000 volumes, which equates to 3 miles of books!
This is even more impressive considering their first store measured only 12 feet square and held just 700 used books.
From a distance, take a moment to admire the building's roof. The stone figure you see is not a petrified individual, but a statue by Antony Gormley, part of a series called 'Another Time II'.

2 Bodleian Library
One of the largest libraries, with multiple buildings across Oxford, the Bodleian Library is home to ancient medieval books on spells and wizards.
We will view it from several external locations. Look for Divinity School for our entrance to the Bodleian.

3 New College
Despite its name, New College is one of Oxford's oldest colleges, established in 1379.
With its stunning medieval cloisters and beautiful grounds, it's easy to understand why multiple Harry Potter scenes were filmed here!
· 30 min · Admission included
4 Stop 4: Bodleian Library (Interior Access)
Gain paid entrance to a section of the Bodleian Library. This impressive site is not only one of the oldest parts of the Bodleian Library University but was also featured in various scenes during the filming of Harry Potter in Oxford.
The Bodleian is a vast complex of buildings, and this is the specific section we will enter. It's instantly recognizable as a Harry Potter filming location and showcases some of the finest medieval architecture in England.

Anna was lovely and very energetic. She managed to get us into the cloisters even though they were about to close to tourists and we really appreciated it.

Awesome tour. The guide, Sue, was great and told us some super interesting stories about Oxford and how it connects to Harry Potter. We got to see so much in a short time and I probably would have not been able to figure all the spots on my own.
Response from the operator · Elaine Lour hello, I am so happy to hear that you had a great and interesting tour with Sue. We hope to see you back soon!
