Exceptional

The Hobbiton tour was absolutely amazing. We caught the bus from the Information Centre in Matamata, which meant we got to see some really interesting clips about Hobbiton on our way there and back before our tour began. The whole place was magical, especially being able to go into one of the hobbit houses. One of the highlights was stopping at the Green Dragon for a drink and an opportunity to soak up the the magic of Hobbiton. Our experience was made even better by our wonderful guide, Ines, who made the whole experience so enjoyable and memorable. Highly recommend this tour. Already planning to come back!

If you loved the movies you must experience this place!
Sandra_S, October 2026
The walking tour was magical and exceeded our expectations. The attention to every tiny detail was impressive. Our guide was knowledgeable and charming, and shared stories about the production the movies. The 2-hour tour requires an ability to walk up small hills. Fortunately there are plenty of benches if you need to rest.
