We stayed in Madrid and took a train to the airport in order to catch a bolt to the hot air balloon experience. While in the Bolt we experienced stand still traffic about 15 minutes in. We called the Air Balloon Operators to let them know our group was going to arrive late and asked if they could be flexible. They asked us how late, we told them 15-20 mins late. They told us that would be too late and we would miss it, no refunds. We asked if it was a way to reschedule to the next day, they said no.
2 other people from my group called and were told the same thing. Frustrated, the driver of Bolt offered to take us to our hotel instead of sitting in traffic further and taking an hour ride to be turned away, We accepted. Another person from the hot air balloon operator called us back 20 mins later and told us we could come late (because he hadn’t realized the group size not being there would impact them taking flight). Now because it impacts them, they want to be flexible. Anyway, we told him that we had already went back to our hotel. So turns out it wasn’t because they couldn’t be flexible, it was because they didn’t want to at the time when we asked. We ended up not being able to participate and lost on our money. I won’t book with them again.

When you spoke with our team, you didn't know at what time you were going to arrive at the meeting point. We had the rest of the group ready to go and we could wait 15 or 20 minutes but not more as the wind normally increases later on and we would have jeopardized the whole flight if we waited more than this.
We offer a pickup service from Madrid to avoid problems on your transportation, but we cannot be responsible for the problems when the customers deceide to come on their own, and we cannot risk the experience of the people who arrived on time.
