1House Of Waterford
At the House of Waterford Crystal, you'll find a manufacturing plant and a brand experience in Waterford where crystal is produced. Visitors have the opportunity to tour the factory and witness the creation of our beautiful products.
During the tour, guests visit the mould room to observe mould making, a technique unchanged for centuries. Master Blowers then shape molten crystal flawlessly using wooden moulds and hand tools.
The next part of the tour is truly magical as visitors enter the blowing department. Here, glowing balls of crystal are transformed into majestic shapes within a 1300-degree furnace.
Waterford Crystal pieces are then hand-marked for precision and accuracy before being cut, sculpted, and engraved.
While getting a behind-the-scenes look at this highly skilled crystal manufacturing method, visitors will also see the high standards upheld by the House of Waterford Crystal for every piece that leaves the factory.
The crystal is inspected at each production stage. Each piece, regardless of size, undergoes six inspections. If a piece fails to meet Waterford Crystal standards at any point, it is smashed and returned to the furnace to be re-melted, allowing the process to begin anew. The fully guided tour takes approximately 50 minutes to complete.
Upon completion of the tour, visitors can explore over 12,000 sq ft of crystal paradise in the world's largest retail and showcase of Waterford Crystal. The retail store features everything made in crystal, including a special display on golf and sports, a significant aspect of the international business at the House of Waterford Crystal.
A central feature in the retail store is a dining table, complemented by twelve Waterford Crystal Chandeliers on display. Lifestyle displays communicate various brand stories, including collections by Jo Sampson, John Rocha, Jeff Letham, and the core Waterford Crystal patterns.
The product range encompasses Waterford Crystal, House of Waterford Crystal, John Rocha, Jasper Conran, Jo Sampson, Archive Stemware, Marquis, Lighting, Holiday Heirlooms, and the new Waterford Crystal Jewellery Collection.
Waterford Crystal continues to produce some of the world's most prestigious trophies for major sporting events at this facility. Some of these trophies are exhibited in the retail store.
The Crystal Café is open seven days a week, offering daytime dining. The café focuses on excellent food prepared with the finest locally sourced seasonal produce, supporting as many Irish suppliers as possible.
The menu provides café-style dining, featuring delicious salads, soups, wraps, ciabattas, and other healthy options, with fresh baked goods available daily.
