Choc farm tasting tour
debrasU2561NG, October 2026
Having been to the island a number of times, this was something we were looking forward to. My husband is a lover of both teas as well as the chocolate which we purchased from the shop on our last visit and have since had shipped in. We visited with family (party of 5). The tour started off with a general introduction about the tour and what to expect. Cold chocolate tea with honey was offered and was wonderful. Bug spray was also available at each stop on the tour and was free. Unfortunately, it did not work so well for 4 of our party so if you are prone to bites, bring your own. We walked through the gardens, saw various edible plants and onto a tasting of raw cocoa plant. We also got to try some of the other fruits grown on the farm along with some honey. It was very well run and not rushed. Our last stop was to see a demonstration of how the beans are processed and separated. This is a mini version but so informative. There is a golf style cart that will take folks with mobility problems to the various covered information platforms and back to the beginning. Use the bathroom before you leave on the tour as it can be a bit of a walk to the closest one.
Thoroughly enjoyed all of the chocolate tasting, who knew there was so much out there and so very different. I needed no lunch after this visit.
Want to try the honey tour on our return visit.

Wonderful tour with knowledgeable guides

You learn a lot about real chocolate sommeliers from
Expert cacao farmers. The guides are very knowledgable and are great to answer all our questions. We walk from station to station for each learning experience and pass by different trees along the path which are explained in detail for the growing, grafting and harvesting process.

Great tour. Everything you’d want to know about the chocolate making process. Was equivalent of a wine tasting.

Exceeded our expectations!

We toured in Oct 2026 about a month after the Hurricane. They’ve worked hard to recover and are going full force! Can’t say enough good things about this excursion. It’s a must-do in Kauai imho. All 4 in our party agree that Mason was the most entertaining and informative guide, the grounds were beautiful, the tastings were generous, they thought of our comfort by providing nice big umbrellas for shade (or rain if needed), fans, water jugs to refill your bottles, botanic bug spray mist (smells great) in the multiple tasting locations on the grounds. Mason noticed that I was fanning myself a lot and took it upon himself to get on his radio and request a colleague to bring a battery-powered fan with a mister!! WOW!! It’s a little hike not too strenuous. Such an amazing variety of flora. We tasted so much fruit, a bunch of honey and a LOT of chocolates and macadamia nuts. This ARTISAN chocolate tasting is divine. We all bought a lot of chocolate at the end and they packed it up in weather-proof cute bag with ice packs!! Well worth the price of admission!
