Amazing views at the waterfall and volcano. Mother Nature smiled upon us weather wise. Hike to and from waterfall requires some effort. Vega and Samuel our guides were top notch and so knowledgeable.

This was by far our favorite activity so far, the waterfall was beautiful and so refreshing - but it is a strenuous way back up in the humidity and there are rather steep stairs, so it may not be for everyone. The lunch was fabulous, the volcano was amazing and the guides gave us so many facts about the history of the whole area! The volcano hike has some hiking up steep stairs, but not nearly as much. The hot springs were nice after a long day of hiking! The timing was off a bit, which did have us a little stressed out to begin with. Our pickup time was 30 mins after the advertised start time of the overall experience, and it was only about a total of 8 hours overall rather than the advertised 11. Which was plenty, don't get me wrong - I certainly would not have wanted to do anything more after the long day, just a little different than advertised. Highly recommended excursion!
Response from the operator · RedLavaTsc Hi Kenzie,
Thanks for your review. Your remark about the pickup time gives me the opportunity to explain about how the pickups work. In our explanation of our tour, we can only give an average pickup time in this case 7.30am. Since we have to go to different hotels, we won't be able to be at all the hotels at the same time. The day before the tour, we aim to get all the information about all the hotels or Airbnb's. Once all our guests have given this information , we work out a logical pickup route. The ones that are further from the departure point will get picked up first, and the ones closer to the departure point will be picked up later. Once we have made the routes, we start sending the confirmations with the more exact time estimates of when we will be arriving at your place. In your case we expected to be there around 7.50am, as mentioned in the email we sent to you. In a perfect world, everybody is ready to go when we arrive at their hotel, but this is not always the case. If someone is ready a bit later, this causes a domino effect, and we can get delayed for the next pickups. If the delay is over 10 minutes, we will inform the people that we are running late. We will always have a car standby that can help make up for lost time. Every day is a challenge, and we work hard to be as accurate as possible.
For the mentioned duration of the tour, this can vary somewhat depending on the group. Groups can be a bit faster one day compared to another day. If it rains very hard, the hike can be reduced in time as well. We should adjust the mentioned 11 hours to 10, though, because that is closer to the average time.
This is why reviews are important to us. It gives us the chance to respond and explain but also to see that something needs to be corrected.
Again, thank you for your review.

We had a great day with this tour. The hike to the waterfall was beautiful, and our guides did a fantastic job pointing out toucans and sloths along the way. The included meal was decent, and relaxing in the hot springs at the end was the perfect way to unwind after a full day of adventure. Overall, a fun and memorable experience that I’d recommend to anyone.
