Walking Gdansk past and present

From The Golden Gate, through the old town and along the waterfront with our knowledgeable and entertaining guide Pawel. From knights to Prussians, Poles and pukers this was a tour well worth doing.

Amazing history!

Wow! The history of Gdansk was something I was not familiar with but after the tour with Tufi my mind was blown with how interesting and important this city was, to not only Poland, but Europe and the world! It was closer to 3 hours long but only because of how enthusiastic and informative Tufi was, such a pleasure hearing of the highs and lows of this amazing city, finished of with emotional detail of the post office workers defiance in the face of the most evil you can imagine. One of the most interesting walking tours I've ever had the pleasure to be part of, thanks so much Tufi!

Tufi, what an excellent guide! The best we've ever experienced so far. He had an incredible knowledge combined with wit, humour and empathy.
It felt like a journey back through Poland and Gdansk's history told through someone who had experienced it first hand.
His last "speech" outside the old Post Office was one of the most emotional moments we have experienced from a guide.

A first rate and comprehensive introduction to Gdansk Śródmieście
spmmik53, October 2026
There are several tours daily with multilingual guides. The tour takes you through the main sites and attractions of Gdansk Śródmieście. The tour duration is typically around 2 hrs with a rest-stop midway. In our case this was at Neptune's fountain which has several cafes in the vicinity for the 20 min break.
The guides, as you would expect, are very knowledgeable, and passionate about Gdansk and its history.
This was our first visit to Gdansk and participation in one of these tours is recommended for those new to this city.
The tour is free - the guides make their living from tips received at the end, so the amount that you donate is discretionary.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience (despite the weather) and learned a lot about the history of this Polish city.
