Bringing Old Goa’s History to Life Through Wonderful Storytelling
Flyer44934657676, October 2026
I had a wonderful experience on the Old Goa Heritage Walk with Make It Happen, led by Tanvi. She brought Goa’s rich history, architecture, and cultural heritage to life through her storytelling. What I particularly appreciated was how she went beyond simply explaining the monuments and helped me understand the stories, people, and historical context behind them.
Tanvi was engaging, knowledgeable, and passionate about what she does. The walk gave me a much deeper appreciation of Old Goa and its heritage. If you want to explore Goa beyond its beaches and discover its history through meaningful storytelling, I highly recommend this walk with Make It Happen.

Old Goa ....the historical way!

If I could have given more than 5 stars for this walk, I would have! So the story starts with me and my sister doing our ritual trip to Goa before milestones and us wanting a different experience than the usual drinking and beaches.
That's when through research we found out about the Make It Happen. We are both experience nerds, so off we took scooter and drove from Anjuna to Goa.
We met Tanvi our guide (who was one of the best factors of the walk - as you will find out soon) and our fellow travellers. It was accident an all women special hehe. We walked through the arches of old goa to many churches of yesteryears and got to know about the stories behind each tile, statue and installation of these spaces. Tanvi's attention to detail was astounding! Like there was an installation near a church which has stones bought from different cultures....she was able to unpack it for us visually on how every small design on each section looked different. There were the colonial slabs, below that Adil Hussain's markers and even Hoysala elements - all rolled into a single structure. (I write this review after a month of the experience... Yet I remember it in such detail because of the depth of the experience!). We looked through tiny holes that were Wells deep down and had a whiff of the hidden catacombs. It was truly a multi sensorial , deeply engaging experience! I highly recommend this walk to anyone who wants to experience Goa in an alternative, non popular ways. The heart and the skill that is being put into building these walks is immense!
P.S.
The walk was on 26th August - which is celebrated as World Eldest Daughters Day and to my delightful surprise, I found out that we were a whole gang of older sisters! (Except my sister ofcourse hehe). That made the walk all the more special.

I really enjoyed the walking tour of Old Goa. Tanvi was a very knowledgeable guide who made the tour really interesting. It was a great way to understand the history of Goa, see the inside of the old churches and get a feel for the origins of Goa. Overall the tour was at a really good pace and most sites were close by. I definitely recommend this tour if you’re visiting Goa!
