Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street
Savor Osaka-style Okonomiyaki and take memorable photos at the Glico Sign. The tour concludes in Dotonbori.
Okonomiyaki: This is Osaka's signature savory pancake. The name translates to 'as you like' (okonomi) and 'grilled' (yaki). It's prepared with a batter base and your choice of ingredients, then grilled to perfection.
Once golden and crisp, it's topped with a sweet and savory okonomiyaki sauce, creamy mayonnaise, dancing bonito flakes, and a sprinkle of aonori seaweed. The result is a satisfying and flavorful dish that's both enjoyable to eat and visually appealing.
In Osaka, many restaurants allow you to cook your own okonomiyaki at your table, transforming the meal into a cultural experience. It's an essential dish for anyone visiting Japan's renowned "Kitchen of the Nation."
