Rough Ride, Great Guides, Plenty of Adventure
Cassandra_R, October 2026
I have mixed feelings about this tour, firstly I really appreciate our actual tour guides on the UTV's who led the whole tour. They were very friendly and helpful, at one point on our trail we came across a tree along the pathway blocking us, they had to call back to the front office to let them know and no one was able to come and "rescue" us and they were going to have us turn around and come back however one of the guides had a machete in the UTV and literally started chopping it up so we could continue. The flip side of this was when they called the front office manager to let them know they were able to clear it you could clearly hear the office tell the guides to skip over parts of our tour to cut it short because we had essentially wasted too much time clearing the tree. This was shocking to me, why should we have to have our experience cut short because of a tree down on your trail, also begs the question why did someone not run through the trail before we went through it? Anyways, our guides tried to make the best of it for us, which I appreciate.
The last thing I want to mention is this is a rough trail, its unpaved and very rocky/steep at certain points if you have any back issues you might want to skip this. If you feel like you cannot safely operate the ATV the guides have two UTV's and you can hop in there which was great, because I did not enjoy the ATV at all I was too fearful once I got onto the UTV the tour became so much more enjoyable. So give the ATV a shot but just know you are not married to that decision. Lastly, as so many people mentioned bring bug spray seriously. the mosquitos were incredible and the only lasting souvenir I have of this tour, ha-ha.

Aloha, thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re very glad to hear that our guides were friendly, helpful, and worked hard to make the best of an unexpected situation.
We sincerely apologize that the fallen tree caused a delay and left you feeling that your experience was cut short. Our trails are located on a working farm and mountain property, and while we regularly maintain and monitor them, trees and branches can come down unexpectedly. We appreciate our guides taking the initiative to safely clear the trail so your group could continue.
We do also have to operate on a schedule, as we have multiple tours throughout the day with guests arriving for their scheduled times. When an unexpected situation like a fallen tree causes a significant delay, our team sometimes has to make adjustments to keep the day’s tours running on schedule. We understand how that may have been disappointing, and we appreciate your understanding.
Our ATV trail is definitely an adventure—it is rocky, steep, bumpy, and unpaved in areas. We’re glad you were able to switch to the UTV and enjoy the rest of the experience much more comfortably.
And yes, bug spray is always a great idea in our tropical environment! Mahalo again for joining us and for recognizing the efforts of our guides. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to continue improving the experience for our guests.

Great tour in Kona!

Chris and Matt were the best!!! We somehow got lucky and it was just me and my husband on their 8am Polynesian culture tour. Chris led my husband on ATVs and I joined Matt in their UTV for the tour. We got to “visit” Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, and Hawaii. You can tell how passionate Chris and Matt are about sharing the culture of each island. We had a great time being hands on at each stop. Thanks for having us!
