About the activity

This experience combines the two archaeological sites of Pompeii and Herculaneum, famous for the eruption of Mount Vesuvius that occurred in 79 AD. Meet your guide at the entrance of Pompeii ruins, Porta Marina Inferiore, to begin your tour. Discover the site and its most significant highlights with the guidance of an expert Archaeologist. You will explore the Forum, the main square, prominent houses, and the famous plaster casts. After a brief break, proceed to Herculaneum via the local Circumvesuviana metro line, conveniently located near the Pompeii entrance. Conclude your tour at Herculaneum, a smaller yet better-preserved site. Visit the beach where over 300 skeletons were discovered.

★★★★★Viator review
Herculaneum and pompeii with Leanna from Askos tours
Michele_M, October 2026
We booked through viator and our guide Leeana from Askos tours was amazing. It was so helpful having local knowledge rather than just walking through with a map. Deanna was both knowledgeable and funny. Thoroughly reccomend
★★★★★Viator review
Fun day seeing both cities
Mark_K, October 2026
Great way to see the highlights of both cities in one day. Plus all the transportation is included, and based on what we saw you do not want to drive on your own!
★★★★★Viator review
A wonderful full day
Carol_B, October 2026
It requires a lot of walking. There is a break for lunch on your own, not a lot of choices. They will escort you to the train and on the train into the herculaneum. They do not escort you back to the train after the second tour. you have to find it and pay on your own. It’s doable but just be aware. It is a very long day.
