Angela was a great host. Very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly. Perfect day out to see the pyramids and learn about the history of Mexico. Strongly recommend to anyone staying in CDMX. The tour was also followed by a lovely lunch a local Mexican restaurant!

Angela is fantastic!

Angela was a fantastic guide and created a very seamless experience. She gave great information, did a good job of managing expectations with bathroom breaks, etc., and created a really good experience for us.
It is an early wake-up call but you will be so glad that you went that early because when we left around noon the place was absolutely packed. Getting there around 8:30 am was a far better experience because we were able to climb the Pyramid of the Moon with minimal other people. It also got quite hot at the end of our time there so even if you're not a morning person you'll thank yourself for taking the sunrise tour.
This would be a great tour for a family but make sure that you are going with children who are old enough to walk on their own for long periods of time. It would be absolutely miserable to take a stroller-aged child on this tour because nothing is paved. It's all gravel, and the climbs up the pyramids (specifically the Pyramid of the Moon and the Pyramid of the Feather Serpent) are extremely steep. It would be an accident waiting to happen with a small child. We took our daughter, who is about to turn 8, and while she was very tired at the end, she enjoyed it. She climbed both pyramids without incident.
I would also caution anyone who is not in somewhat decent shape because it's a lot of walking. We counted 13,000 steps on our devices and the climbs up the pyramids are extremely steep. In fact it's harder going down than it is going up. A couple people in our group had a pretty tough time. Not a make-or-break but certainly something to be aware of.
My only feedback re: the tour itself would be the length of the tour, which from pickup to drop-off, was about 9 hours. We were absolutely wiped (although I don't really see how it could have been much shorter with a group of our size. We had 15 total). Otherwise, five stars across the board and would absolutely take a tour with Angela again!!

If you want a great tour without the gimmicky sales pitch, this is for you! I'd highly recommend!

Angela was an excellent tour guide. She was well versed with the history and always very honest about what's known about the history of Teohuatican. We also really appreciated that she didn't pressure us into making any purchases from the vendors on the grounds or even the gift shops toward the end. If you want a great tour without the gimmicky sales pitch, this is for you! I'd highly recommend!

Great tour!

This was an awesome experience. Angela is super knowledgeable and keeps it real. The van ride doesn't feel too long and Angela gives us facts along the way. The morning coffee stop was at a gas station that was crowded with other tour buses but it was fine. The tour itself was thoughtful, informative, and interesting. Angela shows genuine passion for the site. For someone coming from a lower elevation area, this tour can be challenging as there are tons of stairs. They are also uneven and steep and tall, but doable if you stay hydrated and take your time. My husband has a fear of heights and going down the pyramids was hard but he did it. It's worth the exertion!! The lunch stop was fine- it was a touristy place. No complaints, we needed something to eat and the reason we were there was the tour. Overall a great experience.
