The Ginter experience
Suzanne_G, October 2026
The overall experience was good. It was nice being able to see what a battleship looks like and understand the living conditions of the servicemen. I wish there had been people outside to talk more about the guns and how they were used. The only area that I felt needed attention to was the bridge. The windows were very dirty / worn to where one couldn't really see inside. It would have been nice to have that be a clearer window to view inside.

Must See If You Are In the Area
BelindaJ770, October 2026
If you are in the military or a history buff, you can easily spend the entire day here. Although we visited the website and read through some of the reviews, we really didn't know what to expect. After we paid the admission, we were told to take the "Yellow" tour, which had about 25 different stops. To go through all 25 different stops took nearly two hours. Each stop was more interesting than the other. During this time, we were on our feet the entire time and climbing up and down (at times, very steep) stairs. Part of the tour will be outside. If you are going in the summer, go early in the morning so you will not get fried. Regardless of when you go, bring a water bottle with you because you will get thirsty. There are plenty of restrooms available. Parking is $5.00. There is even a small cafe onsite where you can get a bite to eat and resume your tour.

USS Alabama historical tour
Greg_A, October 2026
Lots of walking on the USS Alabama if you do all three tours. It was well worth it. Lots of history explained throughout as you understand how dedicated and impressive the crew and the ship were. Not an American but could still feel immense pride.
