Whales up close - a unique experience

We were out early this morning (7:30) with the children (7, 9 years old) for the 2-hour whale tour around Gansbaai and were totally thrilled.
Although the visibility was unfortunately really miserable that morning (lots of fog, waves), the tour guides managed to locate whales.
Carefully and without disturbing the animals, we drove up to them, turned off the engine, and watched to see if they wanted to swim around the boat on their own. And we were very lucky to be able to admire more than 8 whales, mothers with their calves, from up close.
During this time, we were able to ask questions and received an incredible amount of competent information about whales and other marine animals.
Overall, the communication beforehand and on-site was really top-notch, and we felt safe at all times.
It was a great trip, and we would like to recommend the tour.

An amazing and unforgettable experience! Everything was very well organized, from the easy ticket booking process to the punctual departure. The team was fantastic, with two guides taking care of our group, which was a comfortable size. They explained everything clearly, made sure everyone felt comfortable, and gave us a real sense of safety throughout the tour.
We were lucky enough to see 16 whales! What I appreciated the most was how respectful the team was towards the whales and their natural environment. It was truly magical and emotional to see these incredible animals living freely in their own habitat.
I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting South Africa during whale season. It’s a must-do activity and a beautiful way to connect with nature! 🐋💙
