Thank you for taking the time to review your visit and our Connoisseur Tour.
As you will be aware, visitors on the Connoisseur Tour receive a total of 6 whisky tastings, including the opportunity to sample a rare and exclusively aged Aberfeldy single cask whisky from the cask in our warehouse, as well as a complimentary engraved tasting glass to take home. We do feel this to be excellent value for money, although it is not a private tasting as you mention, which is why it is located in our whisky lounge and there may be other guests at other tables, also taking part in the tasting. Our guides are also on hand to answer any questions you may have.
We were troubled to read your negative thoughts about the service that you received, as this experience is not reflective of our usual standard of service as you can see from our other TripAdvisor reviews, including reviews of your particular guide. Following a thorough investigation into what went wrong, we would like to address the following points.
• We believe that you were asked during the distillery tour to put your mobile phone away. As we explain at the beginning of the tour, phone use during the tour is prohibited for your own safety. There was an announcement about this at the beginning of the tour, but we apologise if this was not made clear to you at the time
• We understand that you were asked to display your tickets before the Cask Tasting, which is standard practise with all Cask Tasting Tours. However, we had not issued you with a physical ticket at our desk upon arrival. We are very sorry that this did not happen. As you know, we were still happy to proceed with the tasting
• We understand that there was a short delay between the end of your guided tour, and your guide returning to introduce you to the whiskies on your tasting mat. We are very sorry that this delay happened.
We’d really like to find out more so that we can make amends – if you could send an email to AberfeldyDistillery@Dewars.com for the attention of Clare with further details of what happened when you visited, we’d be very grateful.
