Vi bokade kl 09,00, två dagar innan vi kom dit bokades vi om till kl 15,00. Åkte båt i 2tim och såg späckhuggare på ca 200m avstånd i ca 20-30 min sen sa guiden att han brukar kunna stanna längre så de skulle kunna närmare (som man sett på bilder på deras webbsida) men han var tvungen att åka tillbaks för en ny tur kl 18,00. Riktigt besvikna blev vi som betalt 6000kr för 4 personer som fick åka båt. Dessutom betalade vi färja t&r och hotell för denna ”båtresa” och kom från Sverige.
Rekommenderar inte denna tur.

Orca Spirit Adventures was one of Victoria’s first whale watching companies and boasts an incredible history of success in spotting whales in the Salish Sea. We are lucky here on the Salish Sea to be able to showcase a wide array of wildlife as well as whales.
Orca Spirit Adventures is part of an extensive spotting network that is made up of the different whale watching companies in the Pacific Northwest of both Canada and the US, local fishermen, researchers, and a number of other resources that are in constant communication with each other. Every tour is different with what wildlife we are able to view in our range, so sometimes that is in U.S waters or sometimes in the Victoria area.
There are whale and wildlife watching regulations that all whale watching vessels on the water must abide by as per laws set by the Department of Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO), as well as guidelines set by the Pacific Whale Watching Association (PWWA). With these regulations, we are permitted to view Transient Killer whales from 200m. Information about these regulations and viewing distances can be found by guests on our website prior to booking tours with us. We respect and follow these regulations at all times as we are committed to respectful wildlife viewing.

Tyvärr såg vi inga valar på vår resa som var en besvikelse men vi hade kul på båten. Turistguiden berättade att vi kunde ta resan igen gratis tack vare deras livstidsgaranti, men vad de inte berättar är att du inte kan boka en tid / dag för att göra turnén - du måste gå på en väntelista så det finns inget sätt att se till att du får en plats på båten / resan du vill ta. Du måste bara korsa dina fingrar och hoppas att det finns en extra plats på turnén som du vill fortsätta, och bara ta reda på en timme innan. . . . Det här är ganska löjligt, speciellt då resan är 3/4 timmar och svårt att planera sista minuten hela tiden! ! Min pojkvän och jag valde då en annan operatör, och vi såg valar och hade en mycket bättre tid på båten. Vi skulle inte rekommendera orca spirit.

Orca Spirit Adventures is part of a large spotting network with the Pacific Whale Watching Association that is made up of the different whale watching companies in the Pacific Northwest of both Canada and the US, local fishermen, researchers, and a number of other resources that are in constant communication with each other. During your tour, your captain was communicating with the other vessels on the water and taking into consideration where the whales had been spotted earlier that day and the day before and the direction of their travel, as to the status of potential whales and wildlife entering the area and coming within range for us to be able to view. There is no best time of day or weather for whale watching as these gentle giants are always moving.
With our whale guarantee, we want to make sure that when you return for your second tour, whales have been spotted earlier that same day. The way that our whale guarantee works and is advertised on our website is that guests’ original booking is flagged in our system as a “no whale tour”. Our whale guarantee redemption bookings are made on a stand-by basis and subject to Transport Canada vessel capacity and mandatory staffing requirements.

Mållös. Den mest otroliga upplevelsen någonsin! ??? - Be om Alex!

Vi var absolut blåst bort av vår whale watching erfarenhet. Vackra djur! Vår guide, Alex gick den extra milen för att göra vår tid en resa för livet. Vi lyckades se 3 bäckar av valar, sjölejon, marsvin och till och med en örn. Alexs kärlek till valarna och kunskapen om dem skedde verkligen igenom, vilket gjorde det ännu mer speciellt. Han utvidgade även vår resa och stannade sent för att vi skulle kunna se de valar vi passerade på vägen hem. Utsikten och båtturen ensam var fantastisk. En resa vi aldrig kommer att glömma. Definitivt rekommendera Orca Spirit som rymde oss, som vår pre-bokade resa (BC Whale tours) hade avbrutit båten utan meddelande. Bokad av de verkligen hjälpsamma personal i deras systerföretag (Springtide) som också gick ut ur deras sätt att se till att vi inte saknade. Vi såg inte orcas, men vi hade många nära möten med humpbacks, som tycktes komma rakt upp vid sidan av vår båt. Efter att ha blivit varnad på förhand att havet var lite grovt, var jag lite oroad över att gå på zodiakbåten, men jag älskade absolut varje minut. (Egentligen tror jag att dessa båtar är bättre än de större fartygen för människor som jag som är utsatta för havsjuka.) Företaget hade lagt på en extra båt efter en blandning med vår bokning, vilket var mycket uppskattat och vår guide (Jeremy?) Var fantastisk. Vi älskade att se de skalliga örnarna, sjölejonerna och sälarna, liksom valarna. Det var tre timmar vi kommer alltid ihåg.

It is common for many people to think that the larger vessels are better suited for those prone to sea-sickness, however the zodiacs are much like a car where you are facing forward and anticipating the vessel movements, greatly reducing that very undesirable feeling of motion sickness! It sounds like you had an awesome encounter with a humpback whale, these gentle giants make the Salish Sea their home for the summer months as the feed on small crustaceans like krill before going to the warmer waters of Mexico and Hawaii in the winter to mate!
