This is one of the best walking tours I’ve taken. Our guide Julia is incredible at what she does. So much information and history. Her love for her city really shows through, making this tour exceptional. My first impression of Manchester was not great, after our tour with Julia, WOW MANCHESTER, you are AMAZING! Thank you Julia. You are incredible and please don’t stop sharing your passion with the world.
Response from the operator · Manchester O Wow indeed. Thank you so much for the wonderful review.
I totally understand when you say that your first impression of our city wasn't great.
Manchester can be hard to crack at times. There's one or two area's that need help and right next to them there's absolute gems that noone sees.
That's what we're all about. Making every guest a part of our city for the day and hopefully sharing with you what a brilliant place this really is.
I love that we were able to do that for you.
Thanks again for the very kind words. It genuinely means the world to us.

What an amazing experience and Julia our guide was a breadth of knowledge, and so personable. Very grateful for the experience
Response from the operator · Manchester O Thank you so much for the very kind words.
We want every guest to feel a part of Manchester when they're with us.
You're not just a tourist going through the motions on a larger group tour. You're our guests.
As such Julia works really hard to make sure everyone has a great time and its a real pleasure to get feedback like this.
Thank you very much and I hope the rest of your time here was as much fun.

I really enjoyed the tour...
EllenAdele_F, September 2026
I really enjoyed the tour but it was nott worth the money. The tour was very good, the guide was very good. But the food was not worth the money.
Our last meal was at an Indian restaurant - I asked the price and it was 7pd. Sterling.
The Charcuterie spot was excellent and with three small slices of meat and three cheeses on charcoal crackers it would have been expenses.
I believe we may nave been offered an alcoholic beverage which we declined. There was half of a rueben sandwich, a pasty, and sn enormous cookies. One Uncle ? Candy rapped and a tast of some rum or port.
I may have missed something but it was not worth the money spent.
We really enjoyed the tour in the north quarter but compared to your food tour in Greece, a beer tour in Brussels, or one in Oslo this was decidedly the lower of the four.
We really liked the guide!!!
And as I said the tour around the area was certainly worth our time but the food other than the rueben sandwich, the pastry and charcuterie did not add up to much.
Great guide but would not recommend it.
Response from the operator · Manchester O Thank you for the feedback.
We’re really pleased that you enjoyed exploring the Northern Quarter and Ancoats, especially, that you thought your guide was so good.
We’re obviously sorry that you didn’t feel the tour represented good value.
Our tour price isn’t simply based on the menu price of the food served. We visit five independent local businesses and, unlike some tour operators, we don’t ask our partners for discounted food. We want the businesses we work with to benefit properly from our tours.
We also invest heavily in our guides. They put a huge amount of work into making the experience more than simply walking between restaurants, and it sounds from your comments as though your guide did exactly that.
The guide team train hard as our reviews are testament to.
Food and hospitality costs have risen considerably, and we’ve worked hard to maintain the quality of the tour while continuing to pay our independent partners fairly, pay our guides properly and make a donation to a local food charity for every booking we get.
We also need to pay commissions to 3rd party booking sites which continue to rise.
There's a lot of hidden costs to running a business like ours.
There's definitely cheaper things to do in Manchester but we support 6 local independent businesses directly and countless others indirectly as well as a charitable contribution for every tour.
Again, sorry that you didn't feel this was value enough. We've taken your feedback on board and hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in our wonderful city.
