Overall the 3-in-1: Doi...
Joshua_B, October 2026
Overall the 3-in-1: Doi Inthanon Tour, Elephant Sanctuary, and Trekking Trail tour was a good experience. That said, there are a few things to consider. The day was 12 hours and in certain ways still felt rushed. One major thing of note is that to keep on schedule the driver raced from point to point. I highly recommend you take non-drowsey dramamine if you are prone to car sickness. (And keep an extra dose with you.) The winding road up the mountain was no joke! The first stop was the Elephant Sanctuary. It was a great experience and the lunch that was provided was very good. The trip to Doi Inthanon was very rushed. We were given 10 minutes at the highest point in Thailand and then we moved on to the Phra Maha Dhatu Naphamethinidon and Naphaphonphumisiri Pagoda. (The place most of the guide books show.) While the Pagoda's are nice, they are not a magical as the guide books make them out to be. This stop is VERY weather dependent. If it is socked in by clouds, you are out of luck from a vista view perspective. The Trekking Tour to the Pha Dok Seaw Waterfall was wonderful. The local guide was personable and willing to share his tribes history and current life. The trail is all downhill, which is nice, but if you have bad knees or other issues, it might not be for you. The experience ends in the village with some coffee/tea and the opportunity to purchase souvenirs. Then it is an hour and a half drive back into Chiang Mai. Am I glad I did it? Yes Would I do it again? Probably not. I would find a way to break up the experiences and have them be more qualitateive.

Challenging, enjoyable experience
Ian_G, October 2026
The hike requires you to be fit, and probably a good bit younger than me. It would have been nice to hear names and descriptions of the villages and featurrs we passed. The tour was well organized, prompt, and altogether a great experience, worth the money, and recommended

Stunning Landscapes & Fun Activity with Elephants
Rajat_S, October 2026
The elephant sanctuary visit was a fun and memorable experience, but the absolute highlight of the trip was the Doi Inthanon trail. It was incredibly beautiful, allowing us to experience a wonderful variety of landscapes during the 1.5-hour trek. If you are visiting Chiang Mai, this is a must-do experience! The only downside was that our guide was rushing us through, so we couldn’t fully absorb and enjoy it to the fullest.

Truly memorable ethical elephant experience
kellynD4663KS, October 2026
Truly memorable experience, particularly the close interaction with the elephants who were rescued from logging and the circus. The walk to the waterfall was also beautiful and guide our guide Note was great. Critical feedback - shock absorbers in the van need replacing 😆

Wonderful trip. If you’re thinking of booking then do!
Iron1967, October 2026
Wonderful experience. The elephant park was a true highlight. The elephants were free to roam and seemed so happy. Feeding them and helping to bathe them was fabulous. Next was a trip to the Pagodas which was nice. The hike in the national park was a wonderful surprise. Simply stunning scenery. I would highly recommend this trip.
