A Good Way To Start A Lake District Stay
MarkZ1062, October 2026
Fascinating introduction to the Lake District, its supporters, and its history. However, the recently acquired minibuses need to have one row of seats removed and the others repositioned to increase the legroom and make it easier to get into and out of the seats. Also, more time needs to be allowed when visiting Hawkshead - an extra 15 minutes would be better. Make sure that the tour is booked on a day when Hill Top is open, otherwise Beatrix Potter’s home will be missed.
Response from the operator · Izzy L
Thank you for your kind words regarding our Beatrix Potter tour. We're sorry to hear that you didn't feel like there was enough time in Hawkshead, we do try and give as much time as possible, as well as giving an array of points on the itinerary to cater for more people, which unfortunately wasn't to your liking on the day, which we can only apologise for. We do state multiple times about Hill Top not being open on a Friday, which unfortunately is out of our hands due to conservation work. We do hope that even with the points raised, that you enjoyed the tour and our driver guide's addition to the day. Best wishes, Mountain Goat
