Forbidden City, the largest Imperial Palace in the world. You will spend a couple of hours wandering around this amazing example of Imperial architecture and learning about the history of the palace.
For around 500 years, it served as the home of emperors and their households from the Ming and Qing Dynasties, as well as the ceremonial and political center of Chinese government.
Tour route: Forbidden City is divided into two parts.
The southern section, or the Outer Court was where the emperor exercised his supreme power over the nation.

My daughter went to Beijing with her husband last year and highly recommend Catherine Lu Tours. So when my husband and I were planning on a trip to China I contacted Catherine Lu Tours right away. They were/are very responsive. They did all the planning (tours, drivers, trains, restaurants, etc) except for the hotels, which they could of booked the hotels as well. The guides are very knowledgeable and flexible if we wanted to divert from the plan. The drivers were great and the vans were high-end comfort. The memories and history we have will stay with us forever. Catherine Lu took care of us from the time we landed to the time we took off. We had such a great experience with Adam! He was very attentive, knowledgeable, and made everything so smooth and easy for us. Having him take care of the logistics made a huge difference — otherwise I would have been stressed trying to arrange everything and figure things out on my own. I honestly don’t think we would have had the same experience without him.
What I appreciated most was how much history and context Adam shared with us along the way. We weren’t just walking around looking at beautiful buildings and taking pictures — he helped us understand the history, the stories behind the places, and why they were significant. It made everything we saw so much more interesting and meaningful.
He was also very thoughtful and attentive throughout the day, and we always felt comfortable and well taken care of. We really enjoyed spending time with him and would absolutely recommend Adam and Catherine Lu Tours to anyone visiting Beijing. He made our trip easier, more interesting, and much more memorable!
