Experience scenic riding tours on the stunning black sand beaches of Vík, located in South Iceland.
Our Black Beach Riding Tour is a relaxed, one-hour ride ideal for beginners and those who haven't ridden frequently. Riders of all experience levels are welcome.
Our horses are friendly and sure-footed, perfect for navigating the wild Icelandic landscape. During summer, you might spot puffins overhead, while winter's ever-changing weather accentuates the rugged beauty of the scenery.
The tours primarily proceed at a walking pace. However, experienced riders have the opportunity to try the tölt, the unique gait of the Icelandic horse.
Please note: a weight limit of 100kg / 220lb applies, and participants must be at least 10 years old. We are dedicated to the well-being of our horses and reserve the right to weigh riders. Kindly arrive at the stable 15 minutes before your scheduled departure.

Our stable serves as both the starting and ending point for our horseback excursions. The ride will take us along the local black sand beaches of Vík í Mýrdal, known as Víkurfjara.
Minimum age is 10 years, with a maximum weight limit of 100kg/220lb. Unfortunately, pregnant individuals cannot participate. We reserve the right to ask riders to step on a scale.

Arrival Time: Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure, dressed appropriately for the day's weather. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated as the tour cannot be delayed.
Meeting point: Our stable is located at Smiðjuvegur 6, 870 in Vík. Access is via the Orkan petrol station, directly opposite Hotel Kría.

We loved our tour with Vík Adventure! The staff were lovely, friendly, and kept chatting with us the whole time. They took great care during the instructions and always let us know what was going to happen next, which made us feel very safe. We really got to know our horses and their unique personalities.
