About the activity

Explore the crystal-clear waters of Silver Springs State Park on a guided clear kayak or paddleboard adventure through one of Florida’s most iconic freshwater ecosystems. Known for exceptional water clarity and abundant wildlife, Silver Springs offers the chance to see manatees (seasonal), wild rhesus monkeys, turtles, fish, and native birds in their natural habitat. Your local guide will lead you through calm spring-fed waterways while sharing insight into the park’s history, ecology, and wildlife. Keep your camera ready — manatee sightings are unforgettable, and the resident monkey population adds a rare twist to your paddle. Choose from clear single kayaks, tandem clear kayaks, or stand-up paddleboards, all designed for stability and underwater viewing. This relaxed, beginner-friendly eco-tour delivers an up-close wildlife experience in one of Central Florida’s most beautiful natural settings. Just minutes from Ocala and an easy day trip from Orlando.

Kayaking Adventure
Kathleen_E, October 2026
The guide, Ben, was extremely knowledgeable about the manatees, wildlife and the history of Silver Springs. We took the tour in October 2026. We were informed the manatees migrate inland November to March we did see four on our trip. The monkeys were active. There were many birds, turtles and a couple of alligators who kept their distance. I would recommend bringing a seat cushion for the kayak as there's are thin. A very enjoyable experience.
