A Lovely Day
Frank_B, October 2026
Overall, this was a very worthwhile tour to a part of southern France much different than the Côte d'Azur. The gorge, mountains, rivers, and lake are all magnificent. The time spent in the little villages was fine, but not much different than many other similar town in Europe. It would have been nice to see the lavender fields, but that is seasonal and if you are not here in the blooming time (summer), then one can't expect it.
There is a lot of travel time, and much of this is on twisty mountain roads, so beware if you have a tendency toward motion sickness.
I would have given 5 stars, except that I could hardly understand our French guide's heavily accented English. She was very kind and knowledgeable though.

Severe bad weather should be respected

The day was only mediocre because of the terrible weather. The rain was very heavy for a significant portion of the day and made enjoying the outdoor sites impossible. When the rain let up things were fine. The tour organizer should have cancelled this excursion. The guide was 5 star

Mario! Apologies for the late review. Mutsa and I just want to say thank you again for an incredible tour. You took good care of us and taught us a lot of history. The Gorges Du Verdon was such a highlight of our entire trip along with the fantastic video you made us. We didn't feel rushed and by the end of it, we were all asleep in the car from a big day out like children 😂😊♥️ you are wonderful, keep doing what you're doing.

We didn't know what to expect on this tour. It was a long 9hr tour including travel time to and from the Lake. Justine, our tour guide was wonderful, very accommodating and spoke very good English. Our first stop was the waterfalls, followed by a drive thru the canyon. We stopped at a small village called Castellane to grab something to eat. We continued down the mountain admiring the majestic peaks and little villages tuck in. We arrived a Village de Moustiers-Saint-Marie where we had lunch at a small restaurant. Next was the Lac de Sainte-Croix, where we had a choice to rent a kayak or pedal boat. From there we drove back around 2 hours mostly on Highway back to Nice.
