Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock - or Preikestolen in Norwegian - is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden. To stand (or sit) so close to the edge is probably the moment that hikers look forward to the most, although it is no easy deed. The top offers unobstructed views over the meandering blue fjord that was formed by the glaciers during the last Ice Age, making it a good spot to enjoy a photo session and possibly a light snack.

Best Way to Spent a Morning in Stavanger

My Hike with Lysefjorden Adventure was excellent. As a solo traveler, I greatly appreciated that we were able to beat the large crowds and experience the Preikestolen in relative tranquility. On the way down, our guide took us on a side trail for part of the way allowing us to experience a more traditional Norwegian hike. Paying the extra to have a guide was 100% worth and I am grateful the experience!

Beautiful scenery. Very good experience from very punctual Pickup by Else our lovely guide to a nice walk with taylored support so we all could finish. The views while getting up are wonderful, we got given comprehensive information about the hike, the steep ascends so we felt prepared , how to minimise energy and chose the steps, how to walk down safely and not slip , Else took photos while on the rock from distance as we got extraordinary pictures . We felt safe and well looked after and it made a big difference in the entire experience Thank you so much

Had an amazing trip to Preikestolen, escorted by our friendly guide. Extremely hot day so would recommend going early if walking it in the summer. Kent our guide was great at allowing us to walk at our own pace. We weren’t hurried at all. The view from the top was well worth it the hike up the rocks. Would highly recommend this tour.
