About the activity

Our sanctuary is the local sanctuary in Samui and everyone is welcome to visit us to observe elephants roaming free by themselves in the jungle. Learn the history about the story of the elephants and the important part how to take care elephants with us together. This program was run by the experience instructor guide who have the impression and passionate to take care Asian elephants. We invite to be a part for take care elephants with us together.

Activity itinerary

Activity Schedule 4 h Begin with pick up from the hotel and drive to our sanctuary home. We also provide for everyone to observe elephants in the natural surroundings in the jungle which roam free to have food for eating, learn about the history of elephants from the local guide, and observe elephants play in the mud to cool down by themselves. Moreover, we provide visitors with the opportunity to observe elephants enjoy taking bath in the pool and our mahouts carefully clean them by splashing water by using hose, ensuing their comfort and well-being. Finally, have some the vegetarian set of food after the program and watch surprise video together.

I wasn't sure what to expect in respect of the sanctuary itself and it didn't disappoint. A very well kept and looked after set up for the elephants, for all nine that are currently housed there. It is clear there is a real passion for the welfare of these animals that have mostly been either mistreated or overworked. Bestie was a great guide and the team that supported her were very helpful and clearly loved the elephants. The visit included making food balls, feeding the elephants, visiting them in the jungle environment, planting food, bathing them and a video.... We were also provided a basic lunch, which to be fair was delicious. The trip was definitely worth doing and I would highly recommend a visit.

Had a wonderful time at the Samui Elephant Home with Bestie being a fantastic guide as well as the rest of the crew. We got a lesson on elephants, made them snacks, fed them, walked with them in their open and free habitat and washed them. What magnificent animals and what a great work they’re doing. The lunch was delicious as well and they surprised us with video shots of all of us interacting with the elephants. Definitely recommend doing this, without a doubt.

My wife and I visited Elephant Home twice during our 1st trip to Koh samui. Initially just a short morning trip then the half day. Feeding the elephants and learning about their lives was epic. Bestie tour guide such an amazing lady and so funny and kind. Impeccable place and so respectful of the magnificent elephants. Maria, Som boon, Lucky, Dao, granny Angie, Princess- Kamlai, all beautiful. The caretakers are amazing and care so much.
