About the activity

Welcome aboard the Taboo! The Taboo is a comfortable sailing catamaran, perfect for exploring Moorea's lagoon. Prepare for an unforgettable experience. We depart from our mooring, cruise past Opunohu Bay, and sail along Moorea's north coast towards the Tiahura motus. Enjoy stunning scenery, clear waters, lush mountains, and idyllic islets. We'll make several stops for snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, offering chances to see diverse marine life and visit traditional Tikis. You can swim with blacktip sharks, stingrays, and colorful tropical fish in vibrant coral gardens. We often encounter sea turtles and dolphins during our trips! A delicious platter of fresh local fruits and refreshing cocktails will be served. The Taboo is a well-equipped catamaran featuring comfortable mattresses, a unique overwater net, and a shaded area. Enjoy intimate sailing cruises with a maximum of 8 guests, offered in the early morning or afternoon to avoid crowds. This tour promises a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Duh! We swam with sharks!!!
Tina_P, October 2026
An amazing day with our guide Ta’i. Small group size and awesome weather. Picked us up and dropped us off near our cruise ship. Being on the sand bar before other excursions got there was incredible. My husband loves to snorkel and is a strong swimmer, but me…not so much. Being able to walk around on the sand bar with the black tip sharks and rays was an unbelievable experience for me!

Great small group snorkel!
Tom_R, October 2026
Awesome small group (8 people) snorkel with a great crew. 3 separate sites and a wonderful host Louis who gave us all great background information on the Island of Moorea. Definitely recommend!

Snorkeling on Taboo
James_H, October 2026
Really good time and great snorkeling! Anna and Captain were a pleasure to spend the morning with and weather was good. Saw lots of Black tip Sharks and Stingrays. Very easy snorkeling as two of three locations were shallow enough for inexperienced snorkelers. Thank you Taboo!!!!

Highly recommend. Anna...
Barbara_S, October 2026
Highly recommend. Anna and Henry were very safety conscious of both us and the reefs. We had three snorkeling stops and each stop was good in its own way. Anna showed us the tiki statues at our final stop and explained what we were seeing and the significance which made it even more interesting. Conditions were rough, but they were careful and made sure we were comfortable. I would definitely book again.

Fun Afternoon on the Taboo
Rohit_D, October 2026
We had a very fun afternoon on the Taboo. The crew (Jade and Heinui) were super friendly and insightful! We snorkled in 3 different spots ( including the sport famous for shark and ray sightings) and had a great time on the catamaran ! The tour can take only up to 8 guests ( ours had only 6) at a time which makes it quite special !

Thank you Rohit for your lovely review! 😊 We are so happy you enjoyed your afternoon aboard Taboo. We will be sure to share your kind words with Jade and Heinui 🐠⛵ Take care
