Explore a former US military facility. Enjoy a snack and a restroom break. Pass by the Gamboa - Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute. Venture 2km along the famous Birdwatcher's pipeline trail, walking through the jungle and looking for a wide array of flora and fauna. This part of the tour lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Pass by the Centennial Bridge, which spans the Culebra Cut (Gaillard Cut) near the Pedro Miguel locks. This offers a scenic view of the area where the original French excavation faced significant challenges. The bridge is a cable-stayed design with a total span of 1,052 m (3,451 ft). Its main span is 420 m (1,380 ft) and it clears the canal by 80 m (260 ft), allowing large vessels to pass underneath. This is a drive-by segment with no stop.

Definitely did not expect this tour. Wow was it fun and getting to see all of the wildlife was an experience we won't forget. Our tour guide was hilarious, took the safety of animals and all of those in the boat seriously and provided us with a vault of knowledge. If you are lucky enough to get Manolo he will not disappoint!

We were picked up right on time from our hotel (6:30am), with great communication beforehand from the organizers. It was a short, comfortable ride to the area where we got on the boat - we did also have a short pit stop to see a sleeping sloth in a tree that our driver spotted! The ride on the canal was great, we were in a covered boat with plenty of room for everyone in our group (there were about 9 of us in total, not including our tour guide). We were able to see a lot of monkeys that came right onto the boat - all very friendly and comfortable enough to eat out of our hands. We also spotted a number of birds, bats, iguanas, and fish that were around the different areas. It was very cool to be in the boat near the ships that were passing through the canals to see how large they are. The walk afterward on the pipeline trail was short, but very cool as we got to see another sloth hanging out in the trees. Definitely use/bring bug spray! We wrapped up with the ride back to our hotels with some fresh pineapple as a snack. We were all back to the hotel before noon. Overall, really great experience! Yaz, our tour guide was super knowledgeable about all the wildlife, history and facts about the area and the canal. Danny, our driver, had a really great eye for finding sloths up in the treetops too.

It was amazing. He was very historical and knowledgeable about his country. I’d love to go again. We even got glimpses of the Panama Canal, but we couldn’t fully see it because it was closed due to the earthquake that happened on October 9th. Make sure yall book with Enrique.
