Moorea street food tour is not to be missed

My wife & I really enjoyed our Moorea Street Food tour with Heimata. He entertained us while providing education about the food scene on the island. He took us to places and introduced us to foods that we could never have discovered on our own. All in all, it was a terrific experience and I highly recommend it on your next trip to Moorea.

Tahitian “Food” Treat
Donitta_T, October 2026
The tour was very good. We sampled so many delicious street foods. Heimata, our tour guide, was awesome with his knowledge and sharing of his home island foods. Muiherearii, our second driver, was very friendly and a joy to talk with. We would definitely recommend this tour again.

A delicious journey through Moorea’s food history and culture!

What a wonderful way to experience the beautiful island of Moorea! This food tour was so much more than simply sampling traditional Polynesian cuisine — it was a fascinating journey into the island’s rich history, culture and way of life.
Our guide, H, a proud local, was an absolute wealth of knowledge, sharing captivating stories about Moorea’s history, Polynesian traditions and the important role food plays in everyday island life. His genuine passion for his homeland was evident throughout the tour, making the experience both educational and thoroughly entertaining.
Each tasting offered a delicious insight into the flavours and culinary heritage of the islands.
A fantastic tour that nourished both the body and the mind! Highly recommended for anyone wanting to discover the real Moorea beyond its breathtaking scenery.

What a fantastic way to help understand the culture and some history of Mo’orea while tasting our way through unique food I would certainly not find on my own. Heimata is very personable, and provides a unique blend of tastes and experiences you will not forget. Book early in your trip so you can also get reservations at some of the restaurants he recommends for dinners!

Great experience
Celina_C, October 2026
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Personal would be the best word to describe it for me. “H” is knowledgeable and friendly. We learned about the island’s history and how it influenced the food culture. Although I considered it a learning experience, I think the best way to describe it is fun and easy-going. “H” is one of those guys you would just enjoy hanging out with any time. He does a really good job of cultivating that environment with his guests during the tour.
He also does a good job of making sure you understand you don’t have to like everything. You can try something and not like it, and you won’t hurt anybody’s feeling.
We toured multiple places on the island and ended at the juice factory where we had juice and rum tasting and finished with gelato.
If you love food, but are reluctant to do tours, like myself, I encourage you to overcome that and take this tour. You will not regret it.
