Great day at stradbroke island!
Cindy_F, October 2026
Took the ferry over to stradbroke island (about a half hour ride). The guide took the 12 of us in a spacious van. He provided water all day. We took an hour walk to see the spectacular views of the beach and water. We saw wild kangaroos and Joey’s on the walk. Even saw whales playing in the water, green turtles and dolphins playing near the beach. We stopped for an hour or more by the beach to get lunch if we wanted. Went to a hotel near the beach to spend time at the beach or a beer or lunch from the lovely hotel overlooking the ocean. He then drove to a neighborhood and walked around looking for koalas in the trees and found several of them. Very fun to spot them. Finished the day by going to an area where the kangaroos come out to feed in late afternoon. Saw several females, juvenile males and joeys. It was such a nice tour. Our tour guide Aaron was knowledgeable and friendly. Great opportunity to see animals in their own habitat.

A very relaxed and enjoyable day out. We saw all the highlights of the Island. Lovely Aggie was our guide and was cheerful and provided us with key points to look at and information about the Island that we would have missed if we had not been close by.

Excellent small group tour that was well organized and incredibly fulfilling. Aggie was engaging and went above and beyond to make the day special. Multiple interesting stops, each with a clear explanation of its significance and what to expect. The whale migration was easy to spot from the North Gorge path - amazing! The island is gorgeous and we stopped at great sites. The most special aspect was in the afternoon with multiple koala sightings, including a mama with baby. A quick kangaroo stop on the way back to the ferry was a great way to wrap things up.
Response from the operator · Wander53489831549 What an incredible day on Straddie! We’re delighted Aggie made your small-group experience so special. Seeing migrating whales, kangaroos and several wild koalas – including a mum and baby – sounds like a truly memorable wildlife adventure. Thank you for travelling with us!
